Fargo

One film that comes to mind is the largely successful film "Fargo." The film was created by the famously known Coen brothers. "Fargo" was nominated for many awards: Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing, Best Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Director, and Best Picture. "Fargo" took home Oscars for Best Screenplay and Frances McDormand won the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her role as Marge Gunderson.

What’s unusual about the fact that McDormand won the award was the fact the she, the protagonist, isn’t introduced in the film till a half an hour into it. Usually if a film risks waiting to introduce the main hero in the movie for that long it risks losing it’s audience early; however, the Coen’s found a way to effectively break through mainstream film structure.
