Tasty music rec.

This is a really good band that deserves the hype it's gotten from some music rags of late. Comparable to Jack White, the Oranges Band, and a lot of other post-Coldplay/Killers bands, but they definitely have their own charm and their own stylings.

Another good band that I discovered through KEXP's Song of the Day podcast (see my earlier blog post for a link to the podcast). In the same vein as Cold War Kids, but a bit more melodic.

My good friend, Jen recommended this band to me, and I dig them a lot. Jen mentioned they sound like Soul Coughing/Mike Doughty, and I can see where she's coming from. They run a wide range, though, as they at times sound like Dave Matthews, Barenaked Ladies and many others. But still, they maintain their own vibe.

This is one of my favorite bands. They have broken up, sadly, but that shouldn't hold you back from checking them out. I'd recommend their album Goodbye, but you can't really go wrong with any album you buy, as no two songs really sound the same; so you're getting a good variety on each CD.
