Writing Prompt

The prompt was: Share something about yourself that no one else in the Beanery Writers Group knows. Below is Gia's response:

I love sunrises and sunsets. I feel God is most present when I participate as a spectator viewing his creation. Most striking are the sunsets interspersed with jet plumes playing over Lake Erie. The play of color--rose, violet, pink and ruby red--elevate my soul. Shafts of light piercing through the clouds suggest God's presence.

When my five children view the sunset with me, we feel a connection to the universe. My son creates improvisational music. His musical inspiration comes from the sunsets.

When Hodgkins hit in 1972, I rose early in the morning. I plopped in my favorite lawn chair and viewed the sunrise. As the sun peeked over the horizon, I felt God's presence.
