GOP As MobstersBy DrAbuelo(2,706) Well, Alot has happened since my last entry but, for the sake of time we will stick with the main topic and that is, the GOP's obvious mob hit on not only Saddam but, also on the Middle East as a whole. For many of us, the execution was, to say the least, a total shock. Yes we had heard that he was given the deqth penailty for his crimes against the Shiites in the early 1980s but, it is important to remember that he was still waiting trial for the massacure of thousands of Kurds. Further more, some us figured that George W Bush would finally listen to his father and not commit any futher acts that would incite violence. A guess we had momentary lapse of memory here. In what was more than a little surprising, the main stream press finally got something correct, that is any excution of Saddam Hussein would most likly encite further violence among the Sunni population. After all, the country is already in a civil war and any further increase the volume of attacks by one tribe against the other, in this case the Sunni's against the Shiites could very well push the country past the point of no return. And, according to the death count on all sides, the country is on a razor's edge of falling into that abyss. The obvious question here is, is oil worth such a risk to even the Neo Cons? The answer is, no. The execution of the ex-Iraqi leader was not about oil. If you ask a mobster, what is the best way to keep someone from, the answer would be to take them out. And this is the reason for such a quick exectution. Unfortunatly, all the TV stations and most of the Newspapers around the country chose ignore the history behind the slaughter of both the Shiites and the Kurds. You see a piece of that history on the national archives website where you will Donald Rumsfeld shacking hands with Saddam Hussein 10 days after the attacks. The meeting was to strenghen our ties to our man in Baghdad. Perhaps Mr. George H.W. Bush, along with William Casey, Dick Cheney, Robert Gates and so many others would like to explain why they sold those WMDs to Iraq in the first place. Under US law, that would make them accomplaces to not only this crime but the killing of the Kurds in 1987, a postion that would put even Paul Wolowitz Casper Weinburger on death row. But, Saddam won't get his chance to speak out gainst is old pay masters, he is dead now and, as the saying goes, "dead man tells no tales." But the aim the Bush administation doesn't end with one man, there is oil in that desert and we are the occupiers of the country, unfair and sqaure. The chance, "change in the coarse of action" will be little more than a renewal of keeping the US's upper hand in terms of control of the oil in Iraq. Like mobsters, the Bush administration took over the business by force and now controls the swtitch board.
