On January 9, 2007, an important family member died. Merc, cat at 14 years, announced that morning it was time. We knew, had known, just couldn't make the decision. Ahh, but there is a wiser source, that which gives animals that wonderful sense of when its time to move along. The proper move made, we went home, together but oh so very alone! Wait 4 months, perhaps then we'll add to the family once again. I'm watching my husband, Jim, attempt to concentrate on TV, music, newspaper, anything. Ill for 16 years, every day a battle. Married 42 years, words not necessary for communication. Love is easy, it comes with a touch, word, or look. Now it comes with sadness. January 13, 2007 - Time to spread some love! Let's adopt a cat. Jim wants long-haired, 2-3 years old, male. I'm leaning towards 3-4 years old, male, black/white. In the cage, riding to a new life, is a bundle of love. All wrapped up in a 1 year old body, tan/white, and female! Obviously, this cat chose us! How could we refuse. Her name is Buttercup - known affectionately as BC. Our eyes met, nothing more was needed. She had love to give, we were willing to give and receive. The one so recently lost, never to be replaced. Now a new chapter begins with a new life, filled with laughter, filled ever more by love once again. May we all find inner peace from the joy of loving something dependent, yet independent. Human, animal, mineral, or whatever floats your boat!! |
