USE YOUR TIME WISELY Lent Devotion #15
By beanerywriters(11,675)
| Scripture: Colossians 3:17 - “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” We are all guilty of saying “I’m too busy, I don’t have time.” But when we stop and think about all the time we waste, we realize we have lots of time. I sometimes catch myself wasting time by watching television, talking on the phone (or waiting on hold), standing in lines, and driving or sitting in traffic. Sometimes it’s unavoidable, but often its simply a waste of time. You can probably think of many times you could use your time to better advantage. Why not prepare yourself with thinking ahead about something to do at these times? One possibility is using your time driving or waiting time to say a prayer for someone. Other good ideas include writing a letter or preparing a card for someone who is ill, shut-in, or just to let them know somebody is thinking about them. I crochet while I’m watching television, pray for my friends while driving, and carry a note pad to write notes to friends. Ask yourself: ---Am I using my time as God would have me use it? ---How can I use my time to better glorify God? ---Will God say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant?” Prayer: Lord, please help me to make better use of the time you so graciously give to me. Help me to truly appreciate this precious gift. May you be glorified by my use of time. Amen ---written by Maisie | |
