A GIFT FROM GOD Lent Devotion #19

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 118:4  Let those who fear the Lord now say, “His mercy endures forever.”

“This is the day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

I was thirty years old before I saw the ocean. I was instantly mesmerized by it---the

waves, the sea gulls, the sea shells, the glorious sun rise and sunsets.  Every year when I return it has the same effect on me, and I am reminded that this is truly a gift from God.

Each new day is also a gift from God, no matter where we are.

Yet, in facing each new day, hectic with all its problems and concerns, it’s easy to lose focus on what is important. But if we truly believe that God is with us in all circumstances we can rejoice and give thanks for the gift of each new day and all that it holds.

I’ve learned if I begin each day with thanking God for all he has blessed me with, my day goes well---I can truly rejoice and be glad in it.
