Staying positiveBy TheOptimist(4,418) I consider myself a very ambitious person. I have goals and a strong desire to achieve them, however I sometimes lose my motivation. One way that I keep my energy and motivation up is by reading the "Law of Success". If you haven't read this book, I would recommend that you pick it up. Even if you just read the book for 15 minutes a day, it is good way to stay positive and focused in your life. It is by Napoleon Hill, who also wrote "Think and Grow Rich", which is also a great book for motivation. You can find out more about Napoleon Hill by reading the Wikipedia entry about him. One point that Napoleon Hill makes quite frequently is that you must surround yourself with like-minded people. If you are motivated and have big goals but those around you do not, you are likely to find others will try to bring you down. Many times when others don't see a possibility of their own success they will attack your dreams. Giving up is much easier than striving towards success, however you must not give into detractors. There are many other great books to help you stay motivated and optimistic, and perhaps you have found some that work good for you. The point is to keep moving and never give up. Way to stay positive! Becky - slashdotJobs from Wisconsin: (210 days 13 hours ago.) Many people never realize their dreams because they can't overcome the influence of the negative nay-sayers! I personally found that these people usually don't believe in themselves and, as a result, are intimidated by the success of others. Ignore these people and their comments. Better yet, simply let them know that although you appreciate their input, you totally believe in yourself! I've learned that being successful at anything requires a positive and never-give-up attitude, as well. Jerry Russell from Sheppard AFB, TX: (210 days 8 hours ago.) Good points, all! I'll have to check these books out, when I have a moment to spare from chasing my own dreams! Talina from Flagstaff, AZ: (210 days 3 hours ago.) Good observation! So much of life is how we perceive things and a positive outlook can make all the difference! If you expect the world to crap on you it will but if you believe in the good in people and situations it will become a reality. -Talina http://www.craftedcustomgifts.com/wordpress Catherine Yen from Taiwan: (15 days 17 hours ago.) I totally agreed with you, the stay positive person is usally the happiest, healthy, confident and optimistic person. And such people are mostly the leaders in a group, I really sense and know it clearly, I am the type and always encourage people in doing so, besides, stretch out the hands to help others!
