WHERE LIES THE GRACE

In the vessel of ignorance the temper thickens.
Boundaries rise as towering flames
only to destroy, maim, and scar
that which was meant to be known in truth and light.

The veil of unknowing disguised as poverty, obscenities, and vulgar
ruminations...
The ashes left behind from a burning frustration to be released from a prison built and maintained by lack of knowledge.

Could there be one amidst the fiery hell of crudeness
who will survive to find the well of truth and righteousness?
One who can distinguish the fire of ignorance
by quenching it with the water of grace and understanding.

Might the moistness of peace and grace permeate the inferno
leaving behind smoldering traces of life to be reborn from the ashes?
Beneath the ash lay dormant a freshness, new breath to be released; lived out gently and peacefully as the cascading waters of grace.

The ignorance now stripped away; new breath and life to be lived freely and open to the richness in the presence of the one who has given life and knowledge.
