My First Dog Show

Dear Diary,

WOW! What a busy weekend it has been. Saturday I had my first show where I was actually in the ring with other dogs!

What a busy, crazy place a dog show is! Everybody was getting their hair done, there was people and dogs everywhere!

There were only four of us in my class, two of us had never showed before. I was a real good boy while we waited to go into the ring. I ran around in a circle with my Mommy just like we've practiced! Shucks, I said this isn't soooooo hard.

After we ran around in a couple of circles we all went and stood in a row while the judge looked us over. I stood really still and I don't think the judge saw my nervous shiver.

When it was my turn to stand on the table I stood real pretty and let the judge look at my teeth. Then I guess I forgot where I was so I sat down..........right there on the table in front of the judge.

My human  put me down on the floor really quickly and we ran away from the judge and back then went and stood in line while the other guys got thier teeth checked.

Well, you won't believe it but I sat down again. I was soooooooo tired from all that grooming and running and besides, why can't a guy sit when it isn't his turn?? Who made that stand up rule anyhow?

Regardless of my sitting I got my first ribbon! It's a pretty shade of red. My human  says it's 2nd place. Because I didn't win my class I didn't have to stay the second day so we watched the show for a little while then we came home.
