I remember the Southwestern-style homes, the southern sun hot and high in a sultry blue sky, rays bouncing off shiny sixties cars that lined cul de sac driveways. When he took us on sight-seeing tours, intense waves of simmering heat rose from the highway, and I was fascinated by fork-pronged Saguaro’s, prickly cactus and long stretches of arid land dotted by tufts of vegetation. Loved the development and ending; for me, the transition between the main body and last "stanza" was abrupt. Been to ruins and not all disintegrate.
