The Art of Wang Hwai Qing (b. 1944 BeiJing, China)

The art of Wang Hwai Qing (b. 1944, BeiJing, China)

"Six tables" --oil painting by Wang ,Hwai Qing

I noticed Wang's arts in early 1995, that's 12 years ago, his paintings depicts his earnest serach in Chinese Ming furniture's passion, all these antiques represent the Chinese old day glory. His technique in art forms translated thru a destruction of a chair of Ming Dynasty, its shape, shadow, the dispositon reflects his keen sense of beauty and serenity in pursuing a different vision of Chinese Ink painting.

He prusues the innate emotion and the joy of a structure, and these elements are used to support the contents of his painting. He said , a great artist should have his own characterisitics ,  he can't have an unique and independent thinking withou it, so as the artist can't have the unique angle to observe this world. Obervation becomes his pathway to gain the goal and attain the vision which is the tip for him to complete a painting. He totally against fake and current trend  objects,  the similar and immitate things only reflect the impoverishment.

I believe there are only few collectors noticed him due to all the black and white colors and simple shapes,  since year 1995 was still the peak age of Realism of arts in market auction, only few people in Taiwan and China pay attention to Abstract or Expressionism, but Lin & Ken Art Gallery in Taipei had the strong ambition to promote him, that's very unusal and really a outstanding eye view to dig out such a wonderful artist.

Wang Hwai Qing paints seldom per year, only 5-6 big paintings produced, the innate of his painting depicts the sense of zen and the upmost simplicity of human's spiritual life. The structure of his paintings sounds simple but the thoughts burgeon from his deep soul, it should spend him a lot of time and effort to consider in order to form a painting and not duplicate, it's very uneasy.

Wang's painting has been raised a very high price in auction market, his "Night Banquet" in H.K. Christie reached his high in HK$5.46M, "3.5 Pairs of Chopsticks" in Taiwan Chong Cheng Auctoneer held in 24, June, 2007 reached the price of NT$34.45M, you can't imagine his painting ~"The Six Tables"   was auctioned in Hong Kong in year 1993, the price was HK$218,000.-only.

What kind of investment you do in your life time? arts is fantastic, stock market is exciting but boring, but arts market is really exciting, enjoying, a sharing for family's appreciation, besides, it's a media or tool to test your eye view, vision, know-how, sense of beauty and appreaciation capability.... how to shoot for a right new artist in current market or era, welcome to notice this blog, I'll show you something.

Wang's oil painting sounds unaffordable today for general, but his lithography is another investment target just like Zhou Woo-Kee's or Ju Der Chunn's.  Wang is outstanding, he is a philosopher in arts field, what all his hearty words are displayed thru his paintings, just view his painting slowly, it's like an adagio in music, bring you sigh and meditation.
