CHILDREN OF GOD posted

Galatians 4:4,7   4. But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons…7 Therefore you are n o longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Bill detested his job as grocery store check-out clerk. Not only was it a job he didn’t want, but you should see the people, he said. They are nasty! I hate this job! I just ring the groceries and bag them. I don't even speak to the people unless they speak first!
Rebecca tried to tell Bill, a Christian, that each person going through the line is a child of God. Furthermore, she added, they have personal problems and pain to deal with. Bill has an opportunity to demonstrate the love of God to them while he is working.
“Yes, they act goofy. They may be rude,” Rebecca said. “But you are in a position to change their day, to make it better, to show God's love.”
Bill wanted nothing to do with what Rebecca told him, claiming she “doesn’t know what he has to put up with.”
Maybe not. But Rebecca knows that attitude affects how we work. Bill’s bitterness was ruining him as much as it was hurting his customers
Rebecca also knows we are responsible for how we behave, not for how others behave.
If Bill sees God's face in each of his customer’s faces, maybe he will see them as God's children, worthy of respect. And maybe then he can tolerate his job!
Psalm 46:10   Be still and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
