Pay your visit to the splendid place in southern Taiwan

I paid a visit to Chao Thau Arts Village( Kia-A-Thau Artist-in-Residence) on August 24, which is only 2 km from my Kang Shan's house , I was so curious about what the artists there in creating their art work , how the village is established and what the contents and programs of the artists-in-residence is promoted.

The village was established in year 2001 and originally belong to Taiwan Sugar Company, and when sugar industry become a sunset one, its immense premises were gradually become a ruin, it is obviously a waste no matter in estate or cost wise, and therefore,  Taiwan local artists raised a campaign and proclaimed to form the artist village, the major justification is for "Artist-in-Residence" program, this is quite meaningful including fully utilize the space and enable the artists to have a place to fulfill their dreams in creation.-- I think this campaign would bring a serious influential power, which advocate the notice of people to see through the importance of arts and culture industry, this is another aspect to promote Taiwan image, and vitalize the community in people connection, education, artisitc appreciation, arts creatation and sight seeing,  the local people are also influenced  by the idealistic and aethetic atmosphere, it is also a play ground for the children, the value and benefits are highly ranked without a doubt.

I also advocate the un-used spaces from the public sector of Goverment companies would support such program, its feasibility , visibility and effectiveness are very much impressed and vivid .

The arts program "Artists-in-Residence" are introduced locally and worldwide strongly, and I happen to know that there is one artist from Beligum just came over Chao Thau arts village 3 days ago, the stay period of each artist is three months.

I like to deliver this message to the world that this is a good palce for artists to reside and create their ideal world.
