Britney Spears - Queen of the Media Whores?By Creative(54,965)   Posted Saturday, September 15, 2007 View All Blog Posts submitted by Creative What makes a celebrity these days, is it natural talent, rich parents, or numerous trips to rehab? Its really hard to know isnt it. Just how far will celebrities go to remain in the public eye and not be forgotten and who will be crowned Queen of the media whores? My nomination has to go to Britney Spears. Shes done it all recently. Lets examine the headlines! Britney spears not wearing any knickers, Britney goes bald, Britney loses custody of her kids, Britney get married, Britney gets divorced, Britney gets married again! Britney in rehab-out of rehab, back in rehab, in out shake it all about! Im exhausted I missed something didnt I? Meanwhile there is Paris Hilton; she started the knickerless craze didnt she? Followed by all her celebite (celebrity/socialite) friends, then she went to jail for 45 days and low and behold her best mate Nicole Ritchie gets herself a jail term too! When I was a girl if we wanted to bond we went to the loo together. It seems the more dysfunctional the Z lister celebs are the faster their climb to A lister. They may not be doing any actual work but as long as they keep hitting the media headlines they will retain their celebrity status. Perhaps this is how celebs manage their time in between jobs. Whereas before they merely disappeared off the radar when not legitimately working in TV/music etc, now rather than risk being forgotten they have spin doctors to ensure they engage in as much disreputable behavior as possible to make sure the media does not forget who they are. Call me a cynic, but all this showing of the froo froo is no accident and neither are these 2-day trips to rehab. Anyway make your nominations, let me know who you would crown queen of the media whores in the comments box below and when all nominations are in and counted, well you know the rest! I think the title "Media Whore Queen" is slightly harsh. All three of these girls are the way they are due to lack of attention,love and their parents either being pushy(Britney) or never there(Paris, Nicole). They seek solice under the flash of lightbulbs probably because they never received it from their family. Unless you know them or their families personally I don't see how you say 'why' they are the way they are. Meanwhile a media whore, is someone who seeks attention from the media (not a sex proffessional), so that is surely a correct analysis, the Queen part applies to me awarding her the title as seeking the most attention.
