I believe introductions are in orderBy Alf Gordon(13,356) Posted Saturday, September 15, 2007 View All Blog Posts submitted by Alf Gordon This is my first blog entry. Not so unusual, since this is my first blog. So I thought I'd introduce myself and let you know what you can expect if you read my blog.
I've reached that point in my life that some folks call "middle age". I shouldn't complain. When I was 20, middle age was 40. By the time I reached 35, somebody had bumped it up to 50. Now at 50 I'm hearing that 40 is middle-aged again...but 60 is the new 40. If this keeps up, I'll never be old! Hot dog!!
You've heard all the discussion about left-brain/right-brain stuff, right? You know, left-brain people are the logical ones and right-brain people are the creative ones. Well, I couldn't decide, so I picked both. My left brain has been gracious enough to provide me with the tools I need to have provided computer support in various forms for the past 25 years. I've been a programmer, a computer analyst, a college instructor, a trainer, a consultant, and now am a network support analyst. When I get tired of doing the logical stuff, my right brain kicks in and I work on my singing and songwriting, and occasionally get into some art and writing. And since I've mentioned writing (wow, what a great segue)...!
I have written several articles and have had them published on the Web. But here I expect there will be less research and more opinion. You know, like when I hear about something in the news that sets off a little train of thought that I feel like sharing, or when I have a rant I need to get off my chest. I'll try not to get preachy making my point (if there is one), and will always try to be entertaining (if you want to be bored, read your local newspaper's op-ed column).
So there you have it. I always welcome comments on my comments, so feel free to add your two cents' worth when the mood strikes. Hope to see you (figuratively speaking, of course, since I don't own a PC cam) soon!
