Are You Too Catty?

It's no big secret that women are catty. They are capable of switching emotions in a mere second. They possess the ability to shun other women for no apparent reason. It is not unusual for a woman to make extremely harsh comments to another woman without so much as batting an eyelash. But why? Is it a defense mechanism? Are they just twisted, evil people who get their kicks out of hurting another's feelings? Perhaps they have low self-esteem and are trying to build it back up by knocking someone else's down. Or maybe they simply do not realize what they are doing. If the latter is the case, I have devised a list of several ways to tell if you yourself are a catty woman:

-You find that you are constantly comparing yourself to other women. Not only do you compare, but you always come out on top.

-When another woman enters the room, you immediately feel a twinge of jealousy for no apparent reason.

-It isn't unusual (and you actually find it amusing) to make mean comments about random women you happen to come across.

-You find yourself getting a little extra dolled up because you know you will run into what's-her-name and feel you must look your best (or at least better than her).

-You've started a rumor about a certain woman just because you could.

-When meeting someone for the first time, you have a habit of looking for and pointing out her flaws.

-You have a tendency to think highly of yourself (you are never one's equal, you are always better than).

If any of these things brought about a little case of deja vu, you may want to do some inner examining. Women today are under enough pressure without adding more drama to each other. We need to put the claws back in their cuticles and appreciate one another for what we truly are: Unique and wonderful individuals, each bringing something important to the table of life.
