WHERE ARE YOU NOW?By beanerywriters(11,690) Posted Thursday, October 04, 2007 View All Blog Posts submitted by beanerywriters This poem was written by a young Fran in memory of her Aunt Kay and Kay’s six-month old daughter, Kate---who disappeared in Rhode Island in 1949 after a shopping trip. Authorities found the car (with the passenger door open), Kay’s purse and a baby blanket. No sign of the mother or child was ever found. Even today, Fran is left wondering if she has a cousin out there somewhere…
Do you walk the earth, do you look like me? Do you even know you’re part of our family? Have you known only pain or has life treated you kind? Did you know you were often on your dad’s mind? Did you know he never left the state Where he last saw your small and lovely face? Decades have passed Fate took you both
from the family here; We hope you know that we still hold you dear. How timely this submission came to the Beanery Online Literary Magazine, since it shows the violence and cruelty imposed upon man by his/her fellow man has always existed. Recently there was a triple murder/assault plus one assault in Meriden, Conn. Although the situations are different, the tragedy, pathos and loss are similar. This Blog Post has been read 77 times.
