The Truth about Heather Mills and Paul McCartney

There has been huge Media coverage recently about the impending divorce of Heather Mills and Paul McCartney. The Press has chosen sides and most it seems are on Paul’s.

The reporting in the UK about Heather has been powerfully influential in guiding the reader to conclude that THEY have a right to pass judgement on this woman.

This seems to me to be a very sad story indeed, as it seems Heather’s only real crime was marrying Paul McCartney. That is a crime in the media’s eyes as it is not a real crime in any sense of the word.

Prior to the announcement of Heather and Paul’s marriage, the press coverage of Heather Mills was generally positive. At least that is how I remember it. But the tide turned when Heather and Paul announced their romantic alliance.

The press immediately started painting Heather as a gold digger but my thoughts were more along the lines of …..‘dirty old man’. But then I am not old enough to have been seduced by the Beetles and have never been a fan. So I am fairly impartial I’d like to think.

I really don’t see why what should be a private matter between two people has to result in one of those parties (or even both) being tore apart by the press. What’s it got to do with them aside from making them rich?

I strongly doubt that if we examined the lives of the media employee’s or those of their loyal readers we’d find nuns and priests. Which when you actually look at what the press accuse Heather of, it’s really not very significant in the grand scheme of things.

So what if she did tell the odd white lie or exaggerate now and then? So WHAT. Alternatively she may never have done a single wrong thing in her life, but if she hadn’t then she’d be the first!

Given the fact that the press is notoriously economical with the truth I think there is most likely a graveyard in their closets let alone a few skeletons.

Anyway, if you want to read more about the fact and fiction surrounding this case check out this link. HERE.
