What happened to Madeleine McCann - it is clear to me who and how.

The case of missing toddler Madeleine McCann from a Portuguese holiday resort has continued to dominate the Uk's press for months now and I thought I would share my view on what happened the night of her disappearance and perhaps together we can wonder why it is that the holiday resorts staff have as yet (to my knowledge) not been interviewed.

It is my opinion that the abductor of Madeleine McCann is known to the family/friends/staff at the holiday resort, perhaps all or just some of them. Reasons are as follows:

The risk of being caught  taking a child from an apartment is very high. Ie,
  • The child may waken and scream when outside and the change in temperature and movement wake her.
  • The parents could be in the apartment at that time or checking back at the apartment at that time.
  • The kidnapper would be spotted at some point (more than once) unless the child was taken just a short distance from her own apartment.
  • There may be a babysitter in the apartment.
  • There may be a baby monitor.

But, the child did not scream, the parents were not there and they did not check back at the time the kidnapper was walking through the holiday resort with the child in his arms. The kidnapper was only spotted with the child by one witness (as far as I know).

It therefore seems clear to me that the kidnapper knew the following:

  • The McCanns had left the children alone
  • The McCanns would not be back to check on the child at that time (or any of the other parents on their own children, also left alone - nearby)
  • That the child would not cry out - the kidnapper came prepared perhaps with a drug of some sort.
  • The kidnapper did not take the child far before he was in transport or under cover.
  • There was no babysitter
  • There was no baby monitor

Who would know all this about the McCann's?

  • The staff at the holiday resort would know there was no sitting service booked.
The restaurant staff knew who was at the table and who was not.
  • The cleaning staff would know there was no baby monitor.
  • As would the friends and the McCanns.

Given that this child was most likely taken to order, why have the staff at this resort not been interviewed as to their whereabouts at the time of Madeleines disappearance. Or have they?

It is reasonably a good assumption that someone on staff took her, I thought about it too.

I imagine it would damage their tourist industry too much to reveal that staff were involved, meanwhile it could of course be the McCanns or friend of, but either way it must have been someone very familiar with ALL the movements of that group that night and previously. In my opinion of course.
