Dynasty takes down Avalanch in 3 games to win both the series championship and the Commanders Cup. NE Hurricanes beat Impact, taking 3rd place and denying Impact the series championship. Impact, the semi-pro team that moved up at the start of the season was on the verge of dethroning Dynasty as the reigning NPPL champions of the last 4 years if only Impact had taken better than 4th place.

1st Professional - San Diego Dynasty + Series Champs
1st Semi-Pro - A-Team
1st DI - Dynasty Entourage
1st DII - Arsenal Kidz
1st DIII - Rockstar Factory Red

Dynasty and Impact are the top teams in their divisions. Closely followed by Ironmen and Infamous respectively. XSV has made the Sunday Cut meaning the go from being in last place in the league to making the cut and staying in the pro division next year. The rest of the teams making it to Sunday are Avalanche, Joy, and Hurricanes.

The teams that will be relegated in 08 are Bad Company, LTZ and Rage.

The Ironmen won Kansas City. After an internal team vote, they decided to field Ollie Lang, Marcello Margott, and Mike Paxson. But Paxon never had the chance to play as Ollie and Marcello won both their games and locked up the Kansas City win...in San Diego...

The rain eased up for most of Saturday, returning only occaisonly. The crowds are here, but it doesn't seem like as many as in previous San Diego events, which is surprising considering there have been less NPPL events in California this year. Maybe the venue is just getting stale? It's great to hear they will be opening up new venues in Jacksonville, Buffalo, and Houston in 2008.

Leading into the event there was some controversy as the NPPL decided to change up the Finals field from how the teams had practiced it before hand. It was presumably done to speed up the game and level the playing field.
