Global Warming - conspiracy?

What could possibly be more ingenious than charging the world's population for the effects of a natural change in environmental conditions - creating an 'alien defence' fund and taxing us perhaps?

I don't really know if global warming is the result of human consumerism or a naturally occuring event, but I find the whole Global Warming conspiracy theory very intriguing.

Aparrantly the scientific jury is out on this one, so for full details of who, where and why such a theory would exist see HERE. Briefly though the gist is that global warming is not so much a man made disaster as a naturally occurring one, but it suits certain powers that be to convince the world’s population that they and consumerism are responsible.

What intrigues me most about this theory is that I do have a question myself with regards to global warming and the current strategies undertaken to reduce it. If indeed our ‘use’ of certain items was damaging to the planet, would it not make more sense to remove those items rather than just charging us more to continue our use of them?

Taxing travel, cars, mileage etc does not reduce CO2 emissions, as the usage does not decrease. Thus a tax is ineffective. So, what is being done to effectively reduce CO2 emissions?

Meanwhile another very interesting link here.

My biggest complaint about the whole global warming issue is the rut everyone seems to fall into; "are we responsible or not??".

It is their reasoning that if they can claim no responsibility in the cause then they don't have to be responsible.

Honestly, I don't really care WHAT the cause is. Arguing about it is a waste of time. The point to the global warming issue is a clear one but a lot of people don't seem to be getting it so I'll reiterate here;

"Act responsibly".

That's it. In other words, regardless of whether you think we are a small part of the problem, no part of the problem, or that global warming isn't a problem at all, their is NO EXCUSE why you shouldn't be recycling, turning off unused lights, monitoring your waste and your overall use of resources.

NO EXCUSE.

But, like I said, as long as the problem remains a non-issue and the point is clouded with rhetoric ("man isn't the cause!") then those people remain guilt free by the fact that they aren't doing $%&*$%&.
