Michigan, grasping for straws.

By Robert Melaccio, sr(28,936) Robert Melaccio, sr

Yes, many times a company that is trying to move a slow moving product will repackage it. It is still the same product but that new package just may attract additional buyers. The same is true in politics. You will hear terms like "they have been remade", or they have "changed the image". This is done to make the candidate more appealing.

So here we are in an election year and we see all of these candidates, who the majority of, if not all and even though perhaps not in office, saying they are the instruments for change. Yes, change for the better for middle, average and poor Americans. Well in my opinion there are those who really don’t give a darn what the package looks like, they like the product. Then there are some who will try it because someone else says it is good. Of course then there are those who do not know what to pick. In these days that is the majority. They are hoping, praying and seeking what they perceive will be someone good to turn things around. Well in my opinion one should seek long and hard.

So let me propose this for your consideration as I have done in an earlier article. Let's say you are wearing a red shirt. That shirt is very dirty so you remove it and clean it . You then put it back on to wear. It looks good, it smells good and you say it is good but it is still the same old shirt in a new package.

Now just how are these architects of this national mess going to solve the problem they created. There are so many problems they have voted for and created one could go on and on. The sad fact is America in my opinion has already crossed the line of no return and as Mr. McCain says, those JOBS ARE GONE! Yes, he is telling you the truth. What he doesn’t say when he says he will bring you jobs, technical jobs, just how and what type? Do these technical jobs come NOW when you need them, or sometime in the future? So, my good friends just what do you do NOW? He says he will grow jobs to provide exports, well just what jobs,  what type of jobs how come no clarification? Is this straight talk or what?

Search and look and you will find people who have gone to school and graduated and are still unemployed or working low wage jobs. Why, there are no good jobs. If there are any good ones they go to green card holders, or offshore. Just stop look and listen to what is not being said and you have your answer.

They promise you a future when there is no more by their own words. I don’t care which one it is who is doing the talking, they just can’t bring back the good jobs until they bring back that they gave away.

So if these are the real leaders with the plan, just why Mr. Obama, Mr. McCain, Mrs Clinton and all the rest of you in the Senate why are not doing it NOW? Why can’t you get together, like you did with Ted Kennedy NOW and push through what is necessary. You certainly did for Comprehensive Immigration, didn’t you. It mattered not what party did it? We the People need action NOW and 2009 just may be too late.

So if you are grasping for straws here is your only choice and a real choice and voice for change. To implement change we must change Congress. The President does not matter because they can do nothing without Congress. Remember these are the same people who brought us this mess. Just check what they did not what they profess. If you buy that then you reap what you sow. If you want to buy the farm then do it but I will ask you to look and see just what is the substance of what they talk to. Not the Easter Bunny, looks good on the outside hollow on the inside or the Book by its Cover approach.

So if you want to send a real message, one that will sound for decades and make a point, then vote every single incumbent out of office. That will send a shock wave through the entire bunch that their "lifetime job" is not so secure any longer. It is time we put people in office who place America first not just in words but deeds. Free trade OK, but fair free trade, not a giveaway program.
PS: Just an after thought, in giving his concede speech Mr. McCain started to thank the people of "Mexico" and quickly retracted. Strange how Mexico seems to always be on his mind?

Lets examine this current economic and political mess in light of the coming November Election
An examination and the power of our vote!
The Battleground for Change is really in Congress.
Will we see the collapse of our economy?
Respect for diversity of opinion sure but consensus to move forward.
Ok, where does that leave America?
The fallacy of change.
