The fallacy of change.

We have all heard many times people saying or professing they have changed. The Christian will say they are "Born Again", the criminal will say they have found God and the politician might say "I get the message". However, does that mean they changed, that is truly changed?

A change is the throwing the way of the old and putting on of the new. That means doing away with all that was  different, wrong and putting on the new. It applies to thought, word and certainly deed.

Then one might ask why do some religious use the term "backslider’? Well frankly people, although with good intents, do fall back into old habits and ways. Not all, but many. The Alter call must be repeated and repeated in order to stay on track.

So when a politician says they have changed their ways, their stance or their position it is only fair to be skeptical. Some change as required by circumstance and as the political wind is blowing. After all we all recognize just what most of these politicians we know are and how they got where they are. Could that be why 90%of us disapprove of Congress and our President? They are in my opinion the masters of not saying anything, the omission, or the double meaning. You think you know what they satnd for and all of a sudden you are shocked that just isn't what you percieved. "Well fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me" as the old saying goes.

So why would we ever think these politicans running for the highest office in this land will bring us change, that is once again real change? I’ll say that again so it sinks in to be considered. That is real change and the change this nation seeks. Would you empower an embezzler or thief to handle your money? Yes, someone who you may even like but don’t trust. You know trust is something developed over time and by a confidence established by the works and deeds of that person not just their nice voice, or smiling face, no their deeds. That is what establishes them as trustworthy. You are counting on their integrity, honesty, morals and character and in this case their ideology.

So without singling anyone out do you feel that way about these politicians? Now I don’t mean superficial way, I mean deep down honest way. If your answer is yes, then my question is why? Do you base that on their deeds or what you like on the outside. You know, the Easter Bunny approach? Do you like what you hear, their tone, choice of words, inflection and how they speak or is it based on their deeds, their record, their works? Perhaps they look good as a family or perhaps it is just for your own personal or ideology reasons, fair enough.

Well that brings us to change again. So how do we feel about them changing and why? Oh, I’m sorry they did not say they were going to change they were going to bring change. So they will

remain the same as they make these changes, whatever they are. They certainly speak to them but I haven’t heard how or any real substance, have you? Just why would we feel they will do the real things we need and not just some superficial thing to help America. It is that critical you get this right because we are at the precipice regardless if you think that or not.

Why would you not think they will push through Comprehensive Immigration after election when they allude to it consistently but not directly? Why would you not think they will promote their perspectives concerning this Global economy when they have proven that to you by the nature of our current plight and their actual deeds over and over and what they say and don’t say?

Just why would you believe based on their past thoughts, words and deeds they will do that? Do you really trust them or is it that you have little choice? So it is in my opinion it is a fallacy of change. No. Nothing will really change simply because you have not changed the ideology, the agenda, the goal. It just will not come to be.

Now I respect your right to disagree and yet it amazes me how so many do not comprehend this simple fact. Check their records, check what they stand for, who they support. Sure, in any politicians’s reign they hold many babies, eat a lot of junk food, smile, shake hands and pat you on the back, say one thing then do another. That is the art of politics.

So I say this let them prove their change NOW before we vote. They are in office and they can do it. That is if they want. Let them all sign what Mr. Huckabee has signed and start working for it now. That will tell you where they stand on illegal workers. Let them do away with usurious interest, fees and charges on credit cards that drive people over the edge and let them do it now and put money immediately into the hands of many suffering Americans without costing one penny to the taxpayers of this nation. Believe me in my opinion these card companies profits won’t hurt at 18%.

Yes, let them do away with what in my opinion is the pawns of finance the Credit Reporting Agencies that label you a risk even when they have incorrect data on their files for an extended period of time and favor what the bank or card company states over you, a fact. That which forces many to seek alternative insurance or other financial needs at higher rates and many times owned by these same companies as a subsidiary. That which sometimes can cost someone a job to feed their families. Yes, a poor credit score.

In my opinion that would free billions as well and lower the rush to bankruptcy and foreclosure and get many on track to paying again. Yes, something not needed by these companies because of all the write offs, tax breaks, etc. Do away with them and they will change for us. Without having to do anything. How about this nations infrastructure you have heard nothing more about that is falling down all around us. Let them give our Military the power to win not just police and not just say come on home after so many dead and injured by giving them the equipment and authority to do so, now or bring them home! Let them stop bailing out companies by throwing billions at them and place into the hands of average Americans. They took a business risk so let them deal with it. Let us see morals, ethics, character not just hear about it.
