The real facts about the stimulus packageBy Robert Melaccio, sr(26,112) ![]() ![]() Posted Wednesday, January 30, 2008 View All Blog Posts submitted by Robert Melaccio, sr First lets say many of us average Americans can certainly need a break to pay our taxes, electric bill, rent or mortgage, car payments or even put gas in the car. Now while we are negative about everything else that is going on in this nation, it seems we should be thankful for anything at all that our government gives back to us and that is sincere. Supposedly it will come, when is another issue, perhaps too late for many? Yet, when average Americans get this money I don’t think they will run out and spend any of that money on new toys. Notice I used the term average Americans. That is predominantly who I write to. Perhaps the haves will spend it on new toys and frankly in my opinion that is a certainty. It amazes me that people making $70,000 a year and up are having problems. I can understand why many like us are choking when we live off of half of that. Many are earning or making much less and they are the elderly on fixed incomes and young families unemployed or working low pay go nowhere jobs who really need a bigger hand. 1- So, as someone wrote, if your income is $70,000 or more the projected stimulus will most likely be about $1600 to $1800.00 more or less if you have paid a specific amount of income tax. Sorry my friends that is not average America. In my opinion at that income you shouldn’t need the stimulus. 2- Secondly, many people feel when our President leaves things will change. Well once again we look to how many in Florida voted. The Book by its cover or what I like to call the Easter Bunny syndrome, a very nice package but hollow inside. Does anyone realize this, just check their records. They are all bookends regardless of party. The all support Free Trade and they all vote identical, not a difference in any. Just check it out. 3-Third the people who make under $50,000 are behind in everything That is not their net pay which is about 30% lower. That money will go to pay bills and "that’s a fact Jack" as the line in the movie goes. 4- Billions upon billions of dollars have already gone into corporate and market bailouts without a hitch. Why, who controls the power controls the gold. Yes, and much more then they are throwing at America. Talk of trickle down. 5- Anything we may buy with this money goes mainly to China, they make most of it not American companies who front them. You know when the President talks of Made in America, just what is he talking about, a car, a TV, any electronic or appliance? American assembled maybe, everything else made somewhere else. 6- Finally, who will we borrow the money from to give to America? You got it, China, India, Saudi Arabia, our allies, yea, right. So be happy with the money, if we ever see it, but realize this. Really take a hard look at everything. Just today Greenspan stated this stimulus would do little to nothing. In my opinion the only answer is putting America back to work with good paying jobs that stay in America. Now get this, where are those good, decent paying jobs they are going to create? Well nowhere, a fact, so continue to buy the package. Really, think about it. If it is a technical job you need schooling. Ok, we get that, but how many jobs will there be, for how many people and when? The fact is they have destroyed America’s ability to provide more then low wage, not even 40 hour a week jobs and they call that job growth. They don’t even count the people who have dropped out or the ones working off the books to survive. You mean people work off the books? Yes, it works for business doesn’t it, no SS, or other costs. Oh, they lose their SS, give me a break at $6.79 an hour what are they going to get if anything at all? Some talk about Americans being lazy while productivity shows American workershigh up in that category. Yes, the same types who say get a job. Well my compassionate friend you try living off of what many pay. So, rhetorically, everyone needs a college degree to be a clerk, answer phones in a Call center and work in an AT Will environment where they can get rid of you anytime they want. Read my other work and you will see what I am getting at. Just why we Americans buy into this is unbelievable. Then again the only allegiance money has is in making more. What we should be doing, once a day at minimum and every single day, is to send emails to Congress, the President, your favorite news shows. Yes every single day until they are so over loaded they get the point. All the candidates and all the leaders in Congress. Yes, America demands good jobs / stay here jobs and NOW and work toward getting them all out in November. Sadly in my opinion they can’t deliver decent jobs. Wake up America, just what does it take? In my opinion they won’t. By nature of their deeds, the signs and symbols of their words and works in my opinion they really don’t know what to do. It is crumbling around them and all they know is to throw money at it. It is corporate America at its finest. Yes, print more of the worthless stuff. Yes, always money to do it over, never mind do it right. So they’re having a debate. Ask them where are the good jobs, the stay here in America jobs, the jobs that a person works 40 hours a week, gets benefits, has a future where are they and wait for their answer. A real answer not some tap dance we will, or I will.
That is the only thing that will get America back on track now. Good jobs, decent pay, fair pay, a 40 hour work week, benefits. We need no government Socialist system, we need work and good jobs and we will do it as we have always done it. It is also time to reel in the greed merchants who cause this plague. Profits are down. Please don’t make me cry. Just see what Boeing posted today. Record breaking profits. Yes, even while they farm manufacturing defense work off to India and fuel prices are at an all time high. Just what are fair profits any longer? Executives that fail getting billion dollar golden parachutes while average workers have to fight for unemployment.
Sorry, I am so harsh and direct but it is in my opinion immoral and "that’s a fact Jack" as the movie line goes and I defy any Preacher, Minister, Priest, Mullah or Rabbi to tell me otherwise. Usury is a sin. Read, Ok 30% voted in Florida, what does that say America and my other articles and see if what I am saying is not actual. It is not mud slinging. No it is based on their works, what they have done and what they have failed to do. It is reality as delivered by them. Time will tell and like I always say. I am happy to be wrong in everything. However, so far, except something here or there, I have been right on the button. So how low will it go, as low as it has to for them to be bailed out. PS: do you ever see Credit Card rates roll back for 31% or more? The answer to that is never and you can take that to the courts. No, they never touch it and they never talk to it. Can you tell me why? It is the Golden Calf of this age. That alone and immediately would put money back into the economy and for many, yes, even many upper middle class who are over extended, immediately with NO COST to our government. Why won't they touch that and do you have what it takes to ask them? Well we all know why, don't we.
So, they do what they have to. The fed cut the rate to 3%, why they had no choice. It will mean lower rates on ARM's but thes people probably have no credit left to refinance to a fixed. Will it lower monthly payment, perhaps. Will it stimulate the investors,c ertainly and the banks that can borrow cheaper. will it translate to average Americans? IThat is yet to be seen. But they do not touch the root cause my friend as to what I spoke to above.
If you can live with this then so be it America. We all reap what we sow. Robert Melaccio, Sr. Copyright 2008 © Robert Melaccio Sr. 2008 This Blog Post has been read 318 times. The wisdom of fools. Ok, lets get real, trickle down has become trickle up. Immigration part 2, Demagog or good Samaritan? Military Spending is the shortest way to increase profits and jobs. |
