Good jobs, stay here jobsBy Robert Melaccio, sr(28,936) ![]() ![]() Posted Wednesday, January 30, 2008 View All Blog Posts submitted by Robert Melaccio, sr As a followup to the last article I understand they are having a debate this very evening and Thursday. These are those who profess to be the purveyors of change? That is to make known their intentions. However, in my opinion we have not had substance. Yes, they threw a stop gap measure to us and America in the hopes to get through the election. Yes, it just might work for the short hall. However, in my opinion and that of many it will take more then that to turn this economic situation around. So I feel it is appropriate that we ask them where are the jobs they speak about? Specifically and not in general terms like technology jobs, where, what kind, when, what will they pay, who will get them? Oh, that’s unfair because they don’t know as yet? I understand, business will do that via tax breaks and incentives. Oh, now I understand. But you are sure they will be there? So, I guess we can presume these will be jobs that a person gets to work 40 hours a week, not 30 or less, so employers don't have to pay benefits and these jobs actually provide benefits and one has a career and a long term future in? It used to be that loyalty was valued and evidently no longer and is now considered evidently a weakness. Yes, it is now get what you can. Yes, we know all to well and by the way, here, talk to the debt collector. Oh, you say your choice of candidate, the one that looks good and you like what he says, stated he will provide education for technology jobs, green jobs. Is that tomorrow, or in four or five years and how many? Yes, tax cuts, for who? Is it for people making $14,000 a year who still have to pay $800.00 or more into the tax system when others extremely more wealthy don't pay a flat nickel? Yes, when those who wake up tomorrow and who are unemployed or making minimum wage, or just over it can go to, yes tomorrow when they need it, not in four and five years, a long term, lasting, job? Also, how many of those who they plan to educate in school will get a job, those "new jobs they talk about? Do you know what current statistics are? About 10% actually get jobs in the fields they schooled for. Hey that is government stats. What are we talking about here? Yes, give the good jobs to offshore workers because they are qualified and we can’t find Americans. So evidently education is what we need. Well not by what our President stated in the State of the Union address. Things couldn’t be any better. His party rose up and cheered. I’m confused somewhere. Hasn’t he given more grants then ever before to the poor? Hasn’t he boosted re tooling dollars? Rhetorically speaking could it just be selected poor? So, check it out. Rhetorically could it be, Green Card holders get the good jobs, the real jobs, the secure jobs and Americans get the Low Wage retail jobs and then they have to compete with illegal workers or have a Masters to do Call Center Work? Rhetorically I guess when the President says, Made in America what is he referring to, is American assembled with foreign parts. I'm from Florida but I don't buy the Easter Bunny without checking if it is not hollow . I guess 3 million of us did while the other 70%, yes 70% stayed home because we didn’t vote. I read the package and if it doesn't say solid I bypass it. That is why I am bypassing on these politicians. Talk about why we are in trouble. Americans need good jobs and wages to put those construction and blue collar people back to work and yes college grads and to enable recovery. Trades, no more, apprentice jobs little to none, tool and die makers, who and where are they, electronics and computers, where, autos, go to Canada or Mexico. I guess we can all drive down to New Orleans next month where they will wrap up SPP. Do you know what that is my friends? In my opinion it is Comprehensive immigration, Open Borders, The European Common Market come to America. How come it is never mentioned in Debates? So, just what is it that we all know isn’t going to happen and perhaps that is why we are worried? Yes, you got it jobs are really the only thing that will get America back on track, now and we don't see them coming. Yes, good jobs, stay here jobs, decent pay, fair pay, a 40 hour work week, benefits. It is also time to reel in the greed merchants who cause this plague. Profits are down. Please don’t make me cry. Just what are fair profits any longer? Executives that fail getting million dollar plus golden parachutes while average workers have to fight for unemployment and work in At Will employment states like Florida, where workers have no rights and these candidates brag about At Will Employment as being good for business. Yes, lets hear them say that so openly so we know who they really represent, We the People, or We the Business. Have we forgotten America prospered for years before At Will and Free Trade before they came along?
There is so much wrong that it would take pages and hours for an answer, the right answer. But I would reward those who manufacture here, hire Americans first and provide a fair, living wage and help them do such. The Big Global Corps, well guess what, they can move to their new found markets because in reality that is their focus, not here in America. Let them continue to deal with those who exploit children and the poor for profit.
Now lets see if these reporters have what it takes to ask them hard questions and not placate with leading questions designed to get their platform out. We are tired of that as well. Be the journalists that they claim to be and not some info commercial journalist asking questions on colon cleansing..
