The wisdom of fools.By Robert Melaccio, sr(28,936) ![]() ![]() Posted Friday, February 01, 2008 View All Blog Posts submitted by Robert Melaccio, sr Now that degree on the wall, your titles, your position in life and even your economic level does not speak to having logic, wisdom or capability or for that matter even intelligence. It just says you completed the course. The rest comes when you apply that education and knowledge and people can see the fruits of your labor. It is not about nice, looks, appearance, personality, speech, perception or anything private, it is all about leading and being the leader you profess you are. Certainly in my opinion when we look at the disaster this nation is going through be it Republican / or Democrat no wonder people are fed up. Yes and by the way President Bush, the same one that gave us the State of the Union speech the other day said just today that "he sees troubling signs for the economy’. He still says interest rates are low, inflation low and productivity high. Sure we all get to work long hours with little pay. They call us managers. Rhetorically, why ask or say anything else?
So let us together review the facts of their combined wisdom and experience.
- Iraq and its management. Ok enough said.
- Katrina. Ok enough said.
- Outsourcing American jobs. Ok, enough said.
- So called immigration and Comprehensive Reform. Ok, enough said.
- Home foreclosures. Ok, enough said.
- 31% and more interest on credit cards. Ok, enough said.
- Tacking on additional mandated payments to those cards. Ok enough said.
- Tightening bankruptcy laws. Ok enough said.
- Failing infrastructure. Ok, enough said.
The wholesale dismantling of American manufacturing. Ok, enough said.
Billions in debt to our enemies. Ok, enough said.
Fuel prices through the roof and billions in profits. Ok enough said.
Average Americans earning power lowered. Ok, enough said.
35 million plus go to bed hungry in America each day. Ok, enough said.
50 million Americans without health care. Ok, enough said.
40 million sliding into poverty. Ok, enough said.
Low wages, dead end jobs, no benefits or retirement. Ok, enough said.
Should one go on or do you get the drift? So if we can presume these people have been for the most part educated. They come from wealthy families. They are business people and they know how to make money, then what is the answer to our situation? We are perplexed? Well as a Project Manager I can tell you first hand it doesn’t perplex me. I have dealt with their mentality my entire life. Perhaps you want to read some of my other articles, perhaps you don't need to, perhaps you don't care. It is always an individual choice. Well does one need a degree to understand why we are in this situation? No, my friends you learned it on the street corner and with the hard knocks of life. You had no silver spoon. You even learned it at the movies. Yes, for those who can remember, in the movie the Godfather there are two important scenes. The one where the man comes to the Godfather to beg him to take care of a problem and the Godfather tells him if he would have come to him first there would never have been a problem. The man wants to give him something and the Godfather says, there will come a day I may need you and then you can repay me. The second is when the Godfathers son dies and he calls to have the man repay the favor. In that was the message of honor, respect, friendship and the fact that all of mens systems are corrupt. In my opinion though crime it was no worse then those who profess morality but do the opposite. So if we look at these men and woman of power, who profess to want to be our leaders, then how is it we trust them to lead us out of what they have created? How is it that we trust they even want to? How is it that we believe they have the ability to? I do not see it in my opinion by their deeds, do you? So in my opinion and rhetorically asking is this by design or are they incapable? No, in my opinion there are other words to describe this situation, arrogance, pride and greed. If this is not then there is only the other two left. I prefer the last. So my good friends that brings us full circle to the lesson of the Godfather movie. A man who lived, tried and believed in the system. Who did all that was expected and right and got nothing in return. No justice, no care, no concern. Why, in my opinion, because to those in power he was unimportant, nothing, a nobody and there my friends is the true message of our plight. He was important to the Godfather and frankly the Godfather had more honor then most we see today who profess anything they want but do not live by it. Do you see that or hear that because that is a key point? If you hear but do not see or understand that by nature of their works and not what they say is the true test, then you will buy anything. You are, simple and pure in my opinion without wisdom, without logic, without common sense, you are sadly the fool. Yes, I do not count myself out. We created what we have and we have allowed. The only fix is at the ballot and even that is only to send a message because as we all know we are most likely just replacing one with another of the same. Yet, in my opinion if you allow the minority to dictate your life then you are doomed to suffer what they give you. Like that man in the movie, if you continue to trust a system that does nothing, you will continue to receive what that system offers, nothing. So, we can join together to vote them all out. Yes, it can be done. Will things change immediately, no. Yet, we will have sounded the horn. That is only in my opinion and that is if we wake up from our foolish fantasy and understand there is no difference in this current batch. It is time to change the sheets. It is time to cast off the The wisdom of fools. Vote every incumbent out in November and send the message loud and clear, we want real change. Yes, we want change and we are willing to change the sheets as often as required.
If you agree you have no choice but to pass the word. If you don't well your choice and you got what you wanted.
