What not to put on your Internet Dating Profile - part 2

I have written on this topic previously, but have to include this updated rant.

Quite often, in ones inbox one might find a message from a man/woman telling you how fabulous your profile is and what great pictures and begging you to take a  look at their profile in the hope you will be tempted to reply.

However, it is often the case that when one does as requested and follows the link back to their profile you find the pictures are unclear and there is either nothing or the absolute bare minimum in terms of information about that person. In other words there is nothing at all to wet the appetite. Nothing at all to inspire a reply.

One would think that as it was your profile and pictures that attracted them, that perhaps the same may apply in reverse and that some effort is inspired on their behalf!

A profile which reads 'ask and I'll tell' is not intriguing unless in your offline life you happen to be on the front page of 'Hot Bods' magazine and have a professional pic on your profile. Only then will the lack of profile become irrelevant as your viewers hope that brains will follow beauty and seek to find out more. If you are not fortunate enough to be a Hot Bod, then you need to work on your profile or at least write an interesting first contact email!

Another no no with regards to profiles is ranting about those who have annoyed you on the dating site. Naming and shaming doesn't quite work when you're trying to sell yourself as a nice laid back, easy going prospect. Keep your online dating dramas restricted to private email. Selling yourself as a bunny boiler isn't going to work!

Keep it real folks.
