We will reap what we sow.By Robert Melaccio, sr(25,995) ![]() ![]() Posted Thursday, February 14, 2008 View All Blog Posts submitted by Robert Melaccio, sr Yes, it is evident by the TV media that perhaps Obama and McCain are the choices for each major party. Perhaps Hillary may come through even with the Obama craze. Yet, I do think that is getting harder for her to do. Now here is the kicker, in my opinion nice people, good parents, wrong ideology so regardless of whom runs we will get no change. Show me by their deeds, works, what they have done and failed to do and maybe I will listen. So one wonders is it the change you want or expect or are you just listening to Dr. King reruns [and no disrespect to a great man] and yearning for a real leader again? Yes, many in America and the world are. So, those who vote, yes you the minority, is it gender, race or being a military hero that will bring change because looking at works and facts I just do not see it? Is it what they profess or say that you like to hear that will bring change? Now in my opinion why would anyone who can reason and weigh outcomes think they can, or even would bring the change expected when one checks their deeds? Yes, I have to ask over and over because it really escapes me and I am looking for some factual feedback. Now, here is the confusing part for you. I am not saying they will not bring change. What, contridiction, no, they sure will. I just don’t think it is what you expect. Sure I hope I am wrong. Humble pie is good here and being wrong in this case is fine. Yet, I just don’t think so. Why, they have been indoctrinated by a system that lives and eats Globalism and Free Markets. In my opinion nothing wrong with that, just the way they went about it all.
Now lets go down the list of items that are fact and what they stand for by nature of their deeds and works. As I said I really do not care what they profess. Many profess to many things but in reality where the tire meets the road they fall woefully short. So lets do a quick check of them all and see why the change you expect in my opinion isn’t coming. Here is this short list what all three of these agree on.
Free Trade, Comprehensive Immigration, 31% interest and more on credit cards, part of the Washington establishment - all, not Obama, then ask Mr. Kennedy, Outsourcing and Globalism - all for it - fact. Enough said, now we know one of these will get into office and probably most of the same crowd who brought you everything that you want to change. You know that Washington broken crowd they allude to. That same old tired bunch they will change from their same old ways. How, well you the minority are going to put them back in office and I don't really see any change in them, do you? I will agree they did take necessary stimulus action, but change is a long way from that? We knew that anyway if you read my other work. So, the minority will elect for the majority. I must ask for clarification sake just to ask one more time for those who just may not know them well enough and are buying the Easter Bunny, are they not by fact the same ones that brought us this financial mess? So, if yes, then you really are "birds of a feather". Oh, excuse me, you say they were fighting for average Americans right? Yes, fighting the hard and tough battles against Corporate America, and exploiters, right? Leading the way as leaders do to the promised land, right? Oh, sorry, but once again, please help me, like I said, were they and have they not been in office since the last election and some well before that? Did they not vote or fail to vote on much that has gone down in that time? How is it that they can allude to being an advocate for change? Change what may I ask? So if one looks at that is it not reasonable to ask just what do they intend to change and what Washington crowd are they alluding to when they say Washington is broken. When did they get healed? Were they Born Again or have a Nirvana and evryone else is to suddenly follow? Ok, they are all going to give us what we want. Health care, better jobs, a future for our country, a return to prosperity, yea!!!! Hey, let them get upset all I am asking is a question that perhaps you should? However, when we truly sit back and think just what jobs will we get? You know those pay good, stay here type jobs? Are they going to bring back the industry and the manufacturing from India, China and parts unknown? One candidate told a crowd in Detroit, I’ll be honest with you those jobs are never coming back. Thanks for letting me know but where were you in stopping them or did you help them go? So, are they going to give us more of those low wage, 89 day type service jobs? You know the ones that also went offshore. Yes, 89 days and then bye bye, no unemployment you know. How about when you call your All American company or All American Bank and they tell you Hi, I’m Tom in Kansas, yea right and I’m Santa and they are sitting in downtown New Delhi. Quite frankly even when they talk new jobs have you heard them ever be specific and definitive or is it in general. You know like those "Green" jobs that are years away if ever. Yea, I’ll tell my electric company to hold on shutting the lights off. They’re nice people they’ll wait, right? So why don’t they add, when, how, what will they pay and who will get them to their speeches? Rhetorically speaking will they go to Mexico, Canada or China to get those Auto jobs back? By the way GM wants to lay off more Americans for lower priced workers in China and South America. Hey, not me, read the small articles in the business section. Oh, don’t fret we are going to get new technology jobs and education and that will do it. Yes, like the education we already have that produces 500 candidates but there are only ten jobs available. Yes and like that Senator from Tennessee wants to bring good talented people in from India to help us get good jobs here, right? Also, have they checked with Mr. Gates who wants more green cards allowed because we don’t have the right people here any longer. It doesn’t matter it is all in India anyway. So just what are average Americans to do? Oh, I got it, how about that night watchman job? Sorry, you need a college degree or a PHD. Well based on the reader flow these articles are being read overseas. Why, I look at the overnight count, we sleep they read. Yes, it seems they are more interested oversea’s then we Americans are. It say’s a lot doesn’t it. Yes, the Golden Goose has died and no more eggs to spread around. It is staring to impact them as well in layoffs and all of a sudden the brain trusts are starting to worry. Will they admit that, no way. That is why the stimulus. Yes, a win, win for all who have to try to stem the tide. Always billions to pump into the market right? Borrow more from our "trade partners - China and India - to give to Americans making $70,000 and up to spend on toys, tires and shoes made where, you got it China, India and parts unknown and we average Americans get to pay back the loan.
In my opinion they have to do something because to do nothing means total collapse. Do you think anyone making under $40,000 a year gross is going to buy an iPod? Everyday the paper spews tales of doom? If this isn't what is. The AP reported, people for the first time in American history, who are not in foreclosure but are paid on time, are walking away from their homes because they owe more then it is worth. Yes, the American dream, the cornerstone of middle America and average Americans is no more and we and they know it and they are scared. Giving it back to the banks in ever increasing numbers and walking away. Hey, it’s a Free Market and money reigns and wher money is to be made there is always a lender. Sell it to someone offshore, they have the money, ours.
The bottom line is this. Without restoring the middle class of America to where it was this Market is shot Amigo’s. The Chinese, Indians and the rest do not need us any longer and yes, those Big Multi- Nationals need no one but themselves and their new markets. So go ahead and vote for change and dream and I do sincerely hope your dreams come true and I am wrong. However, I have not seen it in their works, I do not see it in the signs and symbols that are all about if one only looks and I have learned the hard way "trust no man" and I leave no woman out of that either, enough said.
