Real change can only come when.By Robert Melaccio, sr(28,936) ![]() ![]() Posted Monday, March 10, 2008 View All Blog Posts submitted by Robert Melaccio, sr According to Webster’s Dictionary change is defined as follows; "to make different in some particular to make radically different change in character or condition a reversal in position or attitude to undergo a modification of to pass from one phase to another to undergo transformation, transition, or substitution" So let me ask you why any intelligent person actually believes we will get real change from this political group of candidates? Did they somehow have a Nirvana? [ which according to Webster is the extinction of earthly desire and individual consciousness.] No these candidates and yes our leaders have been indoctrinated for years into a system that they truly believe in, are committed to and adhere to its principals. It is like being committed to a religion and like religion mind you that comes first above all things, yes all things. So you can profess you will change, promise you will change, commit to changing, or make any other statements you want but until you actually perform the works of change you have not changed. It is as simple as that. Just ask anyone who has undergone alcohol rehabilitation or drug rehabilitation or any kind of rehabilitation. Unless you yourself make the change it just does not happen. Certainly many hope for the change and is not that where We the People are today? Now, not only do you have to want to change you have to believe that the change is good for you and that you can forsake your old ways. Sort of like being Born Again. So when we have established that these people are committed to an ideology and they have by what they have done and failed to do supported that ideology in thought, word and deed we must then recognize it is not just in the professing that they will change. Once again it is as simple as that. You shall know them by their deeds or works. No, not a religious lesson just fact. So while many are in rapture over the historical significance of race and gender just what does that bode for America? Simply and by fact in my opinion, more of the same. The majority allow this and because we have no solutions, no answers, just apathy which is lack if interest or concern created by this lack of an answer. Yet, without an effort to make change we are just like they are. We have made up our minds, made a choice and follow our ideology. We make no real change because simply we are committed to what we have and we do nothing at all to make that change. Not true, well sorry, it is a fact many will not vote because of apathy, ignorance of just what these candidates represent, do not see any options and truly believe no mater who is elected there will be more of the same. Have I left anything out? Well you can add them.
Well I do agree many who run are Birds of a Feather. However, there are some, perhaps just a few that think on behalf of average Americans. That is a fact. Secondly, lets assume they are all identical to the ones in office. If we get rid of those in office we send a very clear, distinct message to those who get elected. That is if you want to stay you must do something for those who put you there. It is called using the fear factor to motivate, yes ask big business about that, they are experts at it. Yes those "Management Majors with their Masters or PHD or corporate big wigs whouse fear to motivate.
So if you wait for the minority who will vote these same types back into office you will get what you approve of. Yes along with the same "Washington" crowd these candidates allude to. You know with their "old" ways, the same old ways their mentor indoctrinated them into. Yes we will get what we got with a few sprinkles of to calm us down. Us being average Americans. So what we can and must do is as follows, that is if we truly want to make real change and are just not blowing steam? First we must spread the word to everyone we can everywhere. You have friends, relatives, associates who feel the same then let them know what you are doing, encourage them to do likewise. Secondly, you must act because a failure to do will mean more of the same. Simple but true. What must you do? 1- put aside all your personal beliefs and think for ‘the common good" for a change. Ok You have not gotten a good deal. Well my friends you put these types where they are. Yes, you listened to what they professed but didn't you? You believed in them becuase of racce or gender or hope did you not? You know them by their works and yes, that title, be it reverend, or just plain Senator or Congressman is meaningless because you have seen what you have received at their hand. Are you truly any better off and if so why are you seeking change as the majority of Americans are? 2- To change we must vote. It is simple, state by state, vote every single incumbent out! That will sound the bell, the alarm and make the statement that will be heard literally around the world that we are getting back to our nations roots. That we intend to keep and to uphold that in our relations with all nations, for their common good and that of ours. Yes and we will heed the warning of our forefathers not to get entangled with foreign powers or nations. Something this batch has evidently long forgotten. So, I ask, did not black men, white men, Asians, red men and men and woman of all creeds and races and nations fight and die for what our forefathers gave us, as they fight even today to protect and defend? We do not fight for the international conglomerates but for our way of life. So why did we allow those who’s agenda is not for the common good, even while professing such, to take it from us? Why would we allow it to continue? Are their deeds not right before us? This is not a revolution of arms, nor is it any type of revolution it is a " reorganization" as they would say. We are getting rid of the extra baggage to increase the bottom line - ours. This is not an election of eloquent speakers, gender, history in that sense. It is not a personality contest or one of "I think" it involves our families, our nation our way of life. It is an election of our nation as it is and what it will be. There is just no other way to say it. Charity begins at home my friends say it all. Worry about the common good first. So it is a monumental historical election in the path that America will follow in the future. The real issue is Americans want true change and not more of the same.
Now as I stated this is not a personality contest like an awards show. Certainly they believe in the road they have taken. My friends so did Hitler or Stalin truly believe in their way. I do not say they are like those types but just use it as an analogy. Did not Castro, or for that matter Saddam believe in their way? Did Saddam even warn us what would happen if he fell? The signs and symbols are there if anyone cares to look. No, I do not find them evil or unpatriotic I just find in my opinion that they have placed the interests of others above this nation in what they have done and failed to do and for the common good of the few. In my opinion true change cannot be accomplished unless We the People take action. Change Congress, Change the Nation or remain exactly where we are. Robert T.
