The president speaks on economics.By Robert Melaccio, sr(28,936) ![]() ![]() Posted Saturday, March 15, 2008 View All Blog Posts submitted by Robert Melaccio, sr Yes our president yesterday spoke on the topic of our economics. "We are going through a tough time’ he stated. Yes, when did he feel the impact? He mentioned about "negativism" and of retreating from Free Trade and not helping people in other nations, in creating democracies and providing them with opportunities as the best defense against terror. He spoke about and understand this implementing "stability in our markets". I find no fault with his premise but I do find fault with its execution by those who negotiated these agreements and those in Congress of both parties who assisted in our current plight. Yes, they all rushed toward their Global dream of a one world system without planning or weighing of outcomes or flexibility. In my opinion it is the story of America at every single level of our society. I want it now "do what you have to" and "well fix it later". It is the story of "shock and awe" which was intended to end the war immediately. It is the story of "good job Brownie" and yes the war. It is the story of a thousand other similar tales that all of them, yes all of them, bar none, led us down the path we are on. Well Mr. President we sincerely appreciate your concern for other nations and our markets. I just didn't know we had any markets any longer. Even our candidates speak of "other nations" and they do it in a manner that somehow demonstrates arrogance. Yes, in my opinion arrogance because even in the midst of our own crisis they have the gall to continue speaking of others when we need to get our house in order. At every single level from state to national government they fall back on the reliance of the "market forces". Well ask the Governor of Florida where his market is? Yes, the problem here is they somehow, somewhere, forgot about America, or did they? Rhetorically, perhaps it was about America but in a different perspective? As for the president we certainly can’t fault him. He is a product of his environment just like we are of ours. I would ask him though to come out of the bubble and get down where the tire meets the road and by the way bring some of those in Congress along with him. Those who speak of educating and fiscal responsibility for average Americans while running Pork Barrel spending. That is if they can stand the truth.
Yes and this President stands there as many executives today, being fed the line he must repeat, that Americans who need help to call the 800 numbers and check the web sites for help with foreclosures. Yet, the man doesn't’t understand many of these people don’t fit the description of "responsible", whatever that is, they who coined the word don’t even know how to decide that? The banks, rhetorically just what comedy show does this man speak on?
The President talks about education as the way to get Americans into good jobs. Well sir, just where have you been? You go down to any placement agency and find that education funding and who it goes to. We are by nature of what you all created a service society and even that is moving off shore for cheaper and cheaper labor, ever talk to your local bank representative or credit card company lately? Just how many, ok let me ask you this again for those who don’t comprehend to well, how many jobs are available for people after being retrained and educated? What type of jobs? Do you know how many educated into new fields are actually placed? Are there thousand of job openings, hundreds or just what is reality? You got it, perhaps 10% if that of the total. Yes check it out if you care to or continue to believe what you hear. After all facts, what are they?Do you think those Green card holders get first crack? Is the color white really the color white any longer and how do you know that? What is moral or not and who says so? In addressing the comments relating to negativism or protectionism he made, hasn't’t he and Congress created the climate ? Once again do they not understand that we are not retreating from Fair Trade or helping others but we require our elected leaders to put America first. Isn't’t that unique? Rhetorically, is this not in their ability to understand that they have been detrimental to America and Americans? Yes, you who love them so and like how they look and how wonderful their speech is and how tough they present themselves and after all he was a hero, yes and of course the dollars they have put into your pockets because to like them in my opinion means they must be doing well for you and anyone can understand it is no longer for the Common Good but the good of a few. Yes, we understand that. It is demonstrated in what they have done and failed to do.If these so called leaders haven’t brought what is upon many Americans of all walks of life, especially the average, middle and poor of this nation, then just who did? Hey I do believe in my opinion they see us as uneducated and incapable. After all they talk about Americans being unqualified to do the jobs, the really good jobs, time after time, after time, why? Who has created this mess? Is it their "no child left behind" or how about in Florida with their FCAT. All solutions for education, right and they have been in pace for years. No, these are the people who brought you all this at every level, time and time again, over and over and you, yes you still want to vote for them. You trust, actually trust and get this, hope. Wow, unbelievable. So, to say again and again, what about jobs, jobs and stay here, yes stay here good jobs, good paying, benefit, retirement jobs? Where will they come from and when. Five years from now, ten, if ever, when, how? Is this stimulus in reality a bailout for us, to help keep the lights lit, or is it for all those big corporations who are getting the "billions" pumped into them to shore them up even while they are on the brink of failure? Yet oil is still at a new high and going up. In Hawaii and California already over $4.00 a gallon and going up. Bailouts, bailouts and bailouts with companies teetering. Frankly if you haven’t noticed, they have gutted the fatted calf and there is no more. I had to ask in my prior articles why would intelligent people do this? They cannot say they have not graduated from some of the most well known schools in the land and outside of it. There has to be something that brought this about? If they cannot do the job, why do you want them there, any of them. You certainly can’t say you really expect them to do something for you when their record speaks the opposite time after time after time. Yes, and here they are talking about "not getting it in Washington DC". Wow, the very ones who are part of it all? Wow, unbelievable. The fact is we have no choices. We have created the monster that is devouring us. In my opinion for anyone undergoing hardships to think, really think, these people are their hope leaves me with only one opinion of them and I’ll be nice is using these words, naive, uninformed or self serving. They have an objective and after that in my opinion it will be business as normal. Did not the recent comments coming from Canada help remind you of that? Don't matter, its all alleged anyway. Let me sum it up this way. I listened to two woman one young for Obama and one older for Hillary. Now they were both asked why they were voting for who they were. The young one said she thought Obama stands for hope. He has more modern thinking. Yes many see that as what any young person could attach too. The older woman said" she thinks Hillary is stronger". But no mention of substance, deeds, works by either, just perception. So, are you one of those buying hope? So here are the only choices we all really have. We can hope along with them because we have no other choice for President that has any chance at all of getting elected, or for that matter is not tainted by "that Washington Crowd" to use these candidates own words and perhaps a real leader. Secondly, we can at least try to Change Congress and Change America. But is that a reality? Only if people, yes the average, middle class and poor do so. Finally we do as we continually do, nothing and sit back, complain, gripe and well frankly go for the ride. As for me I just do not want to ride over any bridges. Robert T.
