Even our military Out-sources.

By Robert Melaccio, sr(26,112) Robert Melaccio, sr

Yes, our defense, our security is being outsourced. But keep the faith a lot of what we do buy militarily is "assembled here". Don’t you just feel more secure now that I mentioned that? Yes, we send other sovereign nations our weapons systems, they build the components and along with that we ship them our money and jobs. Then they ship some of it back and we get to assemble it here.

Rhetorically, I just wonder if perhaps one day in the future those who make those systems stop providing it for us what would happen? Maybe when our need is the greatest. Just what would these same military people do? Is this some more of the Shock and Awe? No in my opinion it is the same mismanagement that brought us all the other problems our military is facing. Yes, from shortages of boots on the ground, equipment, protective vests, bullets and yes, even when these brave troops come home they fail to get the help they need and only after major outcries from the public. No this is not about those brave and loyal Americans it is all about those who are their leaders and I do not mean into battle, but those behind the desks.

So why think that way? Well enough proof is in what I just wrote. However, have we not heard from some of our preeminent leaders like Colin Powell, who left the Administration as soon as he could and who won the first Iraq war in that he had enough troops to do the job. Where is General Franks? We have not heard one peep out of him. He suddenly vanished right after the fall of Bagdad. Have you ever seen a general who "won" the war so silent and hidden? Do you wonder why?

So while we have the most technological advanced military in the entire world and ever in all of history we found that it is not an answer for the determined foe. It takes people to win the peace. Yes, that is what the surge was, additional people, boots on the ground. Yes, the very bottom number of troops available for that endeavor. Could it be that is why we count on our "allies" and NATO? Rhetorically, will we ever have the necessary boots or people with this type of leadership, or so they call themselves.

In my opinion and that of many who have unfortunately gone to war and know it well or given their life to the military know when a nation commits to war they must commit with total resources. You cannot fight a piecemeal war. Did we not learn that in Korea, Viet Nam? Well the answer is evidently a resounding no. We boot those out who want victory because victory in my opinion is not politically correct. Almost 4000 dead and thousands injured and maimed and when you look at it and they say things are getting better, are they, really better? Well yes, there has been some changes in security because of the additional boots. Yet, do you really believe that all is well? Yes, my friends our leaders kiss up to who they have to time after time while those in the gun sights has to live with it. What do I mean, ok here is one, you can’t go here. Yes in my opinion General MacArthur was correct when he stated "Councils of War breed timidity and fear". War is not a romp in the woods for a few months. It is about you are for us or against us. Yet does that attitude tilt the Global picture? Who will we offend, God forbid.

Well this is one issue of the mirid of other issues that come and go in my opinion at the hand of these who "lead" us. Yes, the economy is in shambles, Immigration out of control, Credit Card debt and foreclosures, low paid, no benefit jobs, At Will employment, fuel costs trough the roof, etc, etc, etc and these same politicians, leaders they profess to be, who brought us all of this by what they have done or failed to do. However, are we not part of the very problems? Yes, many of us voted for these "leaders" and many of us will continue to vote for them. And yes, many who did not vote for them also did elect them by their non action, what they failed to do. The President claiming this administration created all this job growth. He doesn’t mention what kind and who gets the good jobs, does he? Does he even know? Unemployment, well will someone tell him it is on the rise. So if you really listen to those who call themselves our leaders and experts you will hear over and over and over Comprehensive this and Comprehensive that and while they are thinking about Comprehensive nothing gets done. Yes, Councils of War breed timidity and fear".

So while those who vote for these politicians cheer and applaud their candidate, just how do they justify it? Just how does one come to the opinion that their candidate will change things? Yes that same one, believe it or not, who brought it all to them? Yes, how do they justify it? It would help many trying to understand that question. Frankly, there is no answer but this - The Easter Bunny syndrome.

Rhetorically one can only come to the opinion they just do not care, or they are just like them in all ways, or totally incapable and I’m sorry if that offends, it isn’t meant to, but it is the only thing one can think of. Why, well if we use their works as a guide, or logic, well no matter who you are, if you have any intelligence at all, you can see they have been judged by nature of what they have done or failed to do and they have been found wanting.
