Is our economy based on sin?By Robert Melaccio, sr(26,175) ![]() ![]() Posted Friday, March 28, 2008 View All Blog Posts submitted by Robert Melaccio, sr If we take a look at the definition of sin we find that within that one word we see many others. Sin In most cases it described an offense against a religious law. In this article I use it in the many other contexts as well because it is in my opinion literally the truth. That is if one cares to examine the works of our leaders and perhaps yours if you are from another nation, in what they have done or failed to do. A part of the definition of sin is fault. Fault equates to deception or to disappoint. It is a less serious sin which can be defined as a moral weakness. We know it is wrong but we go along for many reasons. Finally our imperfections that create sinful situations but not accepting the responsibility for what has happened.
So in my opinion we ask Is our economy based on sin and here is why I formed that opinion. It is truly up to each individual to examine if my opinion applies to their works and nation and agree. I certainly do not suspect the very worst offenders to say they see it. After all does the thief stop what they are doing because they know it is wrong? No the crime grows worse. So we do know that many profess a faith and that many say we are a Christian nation based on the rule of law. That is critical to this opinion. It can be said that many of our politicians, business leaders and prominent people go to church. We are a nation that welcomes religious beliefs and I know of no religion that preaches anything one might think of as negative or sin. Although many religious may fit into what I am talking about. So would it not be out of the question to ask why we have the multiple and rampant problems that we have? If our leaders, in all walks of life and are as a majority of them professed believers, just why is what is happening in America today showing in the signs and symbols that dot our daily lives?
Now in today’s society you will hear just who defines sin as sin? It is the new age of Ethical Relativity. If it is good for me it must be good. Rhetorically, one might ask after knowing what they have done or not done, how anyone can dare to stand before people and profess they are believers? Of course the answer to that is that that question hasn't even come into their thinking process. In my opinion it is pride, arrogance and ego that make them blind to the realities of what they, by their hand, forged and brought about. They had nothing to do with it you say? Hey are they not the power brokers, elite, wealthy and they lead, direct, tell and they make all the decisions? What I am speaking to over and over again is what they have done or failed to do and what that has done to many. Frankly, it is also on the hands of those who voted for them, support them, give to them and work for them. They share, as an accomplice in all of their works. You cannot run from the truth. Yes you can disguise it, redirect it, ignore it but you cannot change it. So our bankers, our politicians, our legal system workers, religious people and yes average citizens and every single aspect of our society that commits these sins and allows them and who stand before us and profess but allows the opposite, know their works can not be that of a believer, regardless of what they say and to deny it only confirms it all the more. Double standards that are brazen facts, actual lies, fabrications, omission, incomplete information. See above for the definition of sin. You rarely hear the "rest of the story" and many times what you hear is given out of context. It seems to be more the norm, but is that the norm for professed believers? No, also one can also see the law of selective application at work. If its good for me do it, but not for all. So go down the list of works. Tough talk yes, but there is nothing right about sin. Many will condemn the person who views a porno movie, drinks or cheats or goes to a topless bar and rightly so from perhaps a moral and religious perspective but they commit no earthly crime or break no law and these sins are individual weaknesses that may impact others but not in the numbers of our leaders. Our leaders even commit these as do people from all walks of life, yes and retained in secret. Many condemn others while taking and useing others for their own gains all under the guise of job, business, position and for the good of the company or shareholders. Perhaps and true while we all sin, how we sin, who we impact and to what degree is the issue. It is time to see our Trojan Horse. So it starts with us all, that friendly banker who charges you the fees and says "hey I agree but I only work here", it’s the bosses. It starts with someone saying "we are a nation of law" but turns a blinds eye toward the breaking of law. It starts with outsourcing of people livelihoods for profit and under the guise of competitiveness. Yes , it starts with what we each profess and do. It is truly the work of our hands and the fruits of our labor. So please do not insult us when we see 31% interest, excessive fees and profits, the seizing of someone’s property to pay off "unsecured debts" and the destruction of ones ability to provide. Do not insult us with there is help for those who need it. Is not the use and exploitation of cheaper foreign labor in the fields of America to be "competitive" not immoral ? Credit reporting that can literally destroy people and bankruptcy that feeds an entire system but destroys individuals and families many times for causes out of their control. Yet they stand before us and look the other way and talk and profess to believe?
So when you go to vote for them realize this as if you are one who also claims to believe, do you approve of their works or what they say? It is as simple as that. Remove the sin and you will find the answers to all our problems and the worlds. No not a religious sermon just an example to make the point. It is called honor, integrity being who you say you are and in doing that you claim to be. It is called common decency, compassion, mercy, love of neighbor and for the common good of all not the few and select.
It is also time the world looked at their leaders. We are not alone. This is a Global problem that impacts the peace and prosperity of all nations. The answers for peace and love and prosperity lie in all our hearts not in the barrel of a gun. It is time for all of us to be who we say we are in our works and deeds. This needs to be done to bring about real change. Yes, we must change. If we are to change, then do it now, we do not have to wait. Demand it now, otherwise accept what you have and what you are and say no more.
Peace -Change Congress Change America, now.
