They theory of economic hope.By Robert Melaccio, sr(28,936) ![]() ![]() Posted Friday, April 04, 2008 View All Blog Posts submitted by Robert Melaccio, sr Everyone is "hoping" the economy will turn around. Hope is defined as wishing for something to happen, to look forward to with expectation, or have confidence it will come about, lastly to desire. Yes, like religion everyone is hoping they will live forever.
If you ask many Americans they think a change of leadership is their only hope, why? How can anyone who in my opinion is intelligent think the mechanic who messed up your car will be able to fix it and if he does somehow manage to then what else will go wrong? If we all want to go to Texas but disagree as to how we may all take different paths but we will all wind up in Texas.
So someone said, hey we lost 80,000 jobs but that is not so bad. After all look at all the years of low unemployment. Yes, for those professing the good news thats counts. Rhetorically though, do they count those who dropped out of the work force completely, work off the books, aren't counted any longer, or those new jobs that offer minimum wage, no benefits and not even a full week of work? Rhetorically to me it speaks to the capability of those who profess that things aren't that bad. They must be part of the haves? Lets see the Dow did ok, why? Well everyone expects the Fed to once again step in and bail everyone out. Of course that is true and we all know it. They always can do as required for those who have and are in need. Hey, just print somemore funny money, right. The rest of us, well, we have some very complex issues here and we just can’t do these things in a rushed fashion. Yes, in my opinion say that again for the types that believe all that. Now the Fed Chairmen says we are sliding into a recession and get this, even Obama. Wow, hey thats encouraging they are finally cataching up to the rest of us working people whoa re footing the bill and facing their tunes. Hey, after all, we are just the uneducated rabble who have to do the work. Well I guess we just might be right if we think he isn’t one of us, not on almost 200k a year, nor are any of them who have. They are just hurt a little in the pocketbook. Yes, they’ll just have to "tighten up that belt a little" and only one vacation this year. Of course Congress is thinking of giving local governments money to fix up those foreclosed homes so investors can but them. Along with that they are also providing incentives to investors to buy them. What about the people who lost their homes. Hey some always fall through the cracks right? They are evidently not responsible types? Next we have "how to deal with the new Global powers". Who are they you ask? How does China, India and those others we handed it all to sound? They are the new markets, opportunity and real sources of economic power. The United States a Super Power or should it be a Super Debtor? Yes my friends while there are still plenty who have in this nation but keep in mind that portion of the have not's is growing steadily. Like I have stated in my other articles, a manageable number as the bean counters say. That is for now. So in my opinion America will continue down the same path provided by the haves of this nation and that’s a fact Jack, as the movie line goes. Hope in one of those running for office or in Congress already, please, there is really nothing else to say. Hope all you want and that is the end of that issue. Of course just before elections all will start to shape up, as it always does before elections. Gas prices might even drop, how strange. Yes, the housing bubble might have eased because of the helping hand to the investors and banks, yes and that wonderful thing called the stimulus. How strange it all will flow together right before the election.
Yet one has forgotten to answer where are the jobs? Thats right, the stay here, worked by Americans, good pay jobs, etc. Hey, why worry, by that time the "emegring markets " will be ready to go and well Americans, they will just have to get used to what it is and frankly no one in this world gives damn. So one must ask, because it is bewildering, if their deeds do not match their works then what is your hope founded on? I can see the hope of the rich, wealthy and haves being a sound hope that all will continue as usual, because of their works, but you average, middle of the road Americans, that is you who really are by economics average, just what do you base your hope on? Okay I’m going to give you the answer - got it?
That’s right you got it, nothing, zero, nada, zilch. I guess that doesn’t matter any longer because we will either not vote or vote the Easter Bunny Ticket. Yes, looks good on the outside but they fooled me, it is hollow on the inside. Yes an empty shell of what I had hoped it would be. Yes, the only hope many of us have is average Americans will wake up and make change. That is Change Congress and Change America. How foolish is that hope? This Blog Post has been read 151 times. Leave a Public Comment or Question: Acts of the few and the violation and plunder of America. If Florida is a microcosm of America are we in serious trouble? Being held hostage by those who profess. Need a cash infusion to keep you solvent? Reports for over seas. Empower those who have, while forgetting those who need. The answer my friends is a blowing in the wind. |
