The answer my friends is a blowing in the wind.By Robert Melaccio, sr(25,995) ![]() ![]() Posted Saturday, April 12, 2008 View All Blog Posts submitted by Robert Melaccio, sr Yes like the words of the song "The answer my friends is a blowing in the wind", the answers our politicians provide are just that, blowing in the wind. Now here is a puzzle for us all. Hillary and Obama says the troops will be out ASAP. However and that is a big however, after consulting with the military and "experts" whomever they are. Well as reported in the paper Mr. Gates, who had said there would be a withdrawal of troops, now says that isn’t likely. In fact to quote him as the paper did, "he sees no chance". So if the powers that be say it ain’t so one could be reasonably safe in assuming there won’t be and as Mr. McCain says we will be there for sometime. Now what does Mr. Obama and Mrs. Clinton say to that? What do you think? Lets wait for the dance to begin. Now don’t get too impressed with Mr. McCain. He changes his stance as the wind blows as well. He now proposes aide for "some" homeowners. The "well-meaning" ones. Well just how does he determine that? Like he did "responsible"? Like he did a few weeks ago when he was all for the " market forces", fixing the problem, excuse me while I compose myself. I guess one can go on and on and on about the wind blowing with promise this, profess that, do something else. Yet, it is America today. It speaks to all the character traits that comprise a person and especially a leader. Profess all they want - meaningless. Now to say there are no simple answer, well one might understand that. After all how could they ever think of a way out of the mess they created? Yes, blame no one but themselves. It is a product of their deeds. That is to ask, how long did it take before they understood the situation with the economy? How long did it take before they suspected there is a problem with their Free Trade ideology? How long will it take, because they still have not understood American jobs, long term, stay here, worked by Americans jobs are gone, not going, going, gone, but gone along with the average and middle class. Well my friends it doesn’t matter because in my opinion these are not the priority issues for them. It is in my opinion as simple as that. In fact and in my opinion it is the only truth, real truth you can depend on when you think of these individuals. So my friends the answer my friends is a blowing in the wind. The way the public blows so will the rhetoric. As for us, listen carefully to what they say, but better yet what they don’t say, and actually what they do or fail to do. Then for those who vote for them, go out and pull the lever of hope, go home and then sit back and enjoy that beer and burger. It is about as good as it will ever get. Robert T.
