Bare Bones Economics and the language of fools.By Robert Melaccio, sr(26,143) ![]() ![]() Posted Monday, April 28, 2008 View All Blog Posts submitted by Robert Melaccio, sr Yes it is all about Bare Bones Economics and the language of fools. Well lets review what we "common folk", us, as they refer to, the bovine, understand each and every day, no matter who you are or where you are and see if this doesn’t agree with what we see demonstrated by our leaders. That is in what they profess, what they do and what they fail to do for the common good. We’ll start with a home. As we sit in our homes, no matter how big or small, how rich or poor we are, how opulent or shabby the home that one place that is the dream of us all we may feel secure, or we just might be worried about our future? Now understandably, where there is a home there are people and most of the time families and we must and we should never ever forget that "a home represents a family" as stated by a Mrs. Martinez on a TV program, be it of a single person, family or shared environment. And yes when we go to work, we should never ever forget that employment secures that home and represents our families future. The cornerstone of average people the world over, no matter where.
Now we know for a fact when people are struggling to survive, do I need not go down the list of why that is reality today, they are in high stress, depression and anxiety over the potential loss of that which is the foundation of all their works and dreams. We also know by the current situation in our natio and the numbers relating to wealth, income, jobs, our future and as provided daily by our government need to be really looked at closely. Why, well read in the "Perspective section" of the St. Petersburg Times and article by Kevin Phillips called Hard Times. I do believe that will edify your thinking? You can probably get it on the Internet. As he points out quite well in his article the monthly unemployment figure gives everyone an idea of how healthy the economy is. It also speaks to how the government is doing in the job creation business. Well go down to any unemployment office for yourself and look at all the people over 50 out of work and young high school grads who do not go to college and yes even college grads who are unemployed or working two or three low end jobs, out of field, or just plain dropped out of the system and you have the answer. He spells it out for you and much more. So if we look at foreclosure, a major impact to communities and families and jobs, business and services at every level, they certainly don’t admit to that. Hey why start panic? Yes just like the Titanic it may not sink in to those going into the water, that is until they sink.
Do you need another laugh if not a good cry? They are always saying Americans should save more for retirement. Ok what four letter word comes to mind. You got it, in my opinion, FOOL. While they receive an excessive benefits and retirement package and make in excess of $175,000 a year, they have what is in my opinion the audacity to comment on it. What savings can any average people possibly have with the ever increasing costs of just survival? They don’t even talk about the things that are required by them that push people over the edge that remain unresolved much less what I call the hidden expenses like school lunch, school clothes, the ever increasing cost of food and fuel to get the kids to and from school and to get to work, heat the home, fix the car, buy milk. ect, etc, etc. Now speaking of struggling families, how about the parents who mortgage their home to get their children and grand children into a home because their child is out of work and being evicted? Now it is mortgaged as investment with no money being made. They get to pay higher taxes and they can get no government help because they have an "asset’. Is it more like a liability? Ask your friendly accountant where the wash comes in? So they help their loved ones by providing a roof and a home for those children. They do not place the burden on the tax payers and for that they get nada, zilch, grief, heartache and more government, well I know what I call them you can call them what you want to. Hey how about this other reality check? Here is one for you seniors. Now lets assume you are a senior citizen, alone and living off of $535.00 per month with no other source of income. You call Social Security to see if you are eligible for help. Once you go through the first extensive series of questions you are told you will be interviewed to see if you are eligible. They then call you and you repeat the questions only to be told they can’t help because get this, you don’t contribute your portion to the rent in the home you are living in. Yes if you lie, what lie, how dare you, they willg ive you antotehr $20.00 a month for that lie. OK what is it that they don’t understand? One third of what is nothing? Can they or these [ok I’ll behave] types live off of $535.00 a month and that is after Medicare is extracted? Their fault those who have will say 99 out of 100 times and not our fault. Yes they justify it all while professing how good they are, Moo.
Just where would these seniors be if their families were not helping? You got it, in that cardboard box on Pennsylvania Avenue that our Born Again leaders drive past each day when they do get to work. They should be trying to help and not reply "call the state". Yes call the State of Florida. Well if you know this state you already know the answer. They are struggling to survive and the real disaster is in my opinion not the next Hurricane, which will surely push them over the edge, but a system in my opinion that is out of control. To address this one would have to write a book. I know by experience andI can tell any of them that care to listen, yea right, how this state operates. So what we see right before us is the cycle of disaster, destruction and sadly the pillaging and rape of a nation. We know it has nothing to do with the principals and laws of Supply and Demand. We know it has nothing to do with compassion, understanding and doing what is right as we profess to be and are. Yes a nation of law, where? Must one point it out? "Feel the pain", where, how, when? Yes educate us, but also do what we expect you to do and do what we trust you to do. Yes, a novelty, do what you stand and profess to be and do. It is very simple indeed. We may be cattle but even cattle are not totally dumb. They know when in danger to make a move and a change. Sadly one has to ask, do we? So the answer to who they say they are is in their deeds, their works, what they do and what yes, they fail to do. No, not in any garbage speech, talk or comments. Not in empty promises, falsehood, lies, omissions. No patriotic rally. No not in any convention with idealists and hopeful waving banners and singing, for what? No, a man is a man, and a woman is woman, an adult, by nature of their character. They need no lawyer, court, judge or jury, or any of mans instruments or institutions. They need to do what is honorable, just with integrity and morals and yes ethics.
Sorry, we may be the bovine but in my opinion Bare Bones Economics and the language of fools is the story of today. The real question is why you want more of the same?
