A world made for those that have.

By Robert Melaccio, sr(29,014) Robert Melaccio, sr

A world made for those that have. Yes when one actually steps back and goes down the list item for item in my opinion this is A world made for those that have and strictly and solely for those that have. In my opinion everyone else are necessary to feed that worldly system and keep it running for their benefit. How does one formulate this position? Well it actually is simple. If one takes an economic look one can see that the systems in use and in place favor them and big business over the interests of the common, working man or poor.  So what we see by the signs and symbols all about is the disparity between the working man and poor and the haves.

Nothing wrong with sucess or having. That is not the issue being discussed. So what do I mean by that? Ok lets address a few items only. I think this will get the point across. Hurricanes here in Florida are a major concern as they would be everywhere. They have caused billions in damage and destruction. Now Florida has a program they like to brag about to help people strengthen their homes to withstand the forces of a hurricane. Yet isn’t it amazing that while they give it all the positive press few "average" or poor home owners can get a nickel, if that much, to do what the program implies it does. You may qualify for help but the greater percentage of money goes to those who live on the coasts lines. Just check their maps out and see and guess who gets the help? Do you know what land and homes cost on the beach and shoreline? You won't find many a working man living there unless his family has been there for generations.

Yes, you got it, those who can afford to line in a minimum ½ a million dollar or more homes.Yes, they get  the aide. Hey they won’t even be there, they will most likely be at another location far removed should a storm arise. The rest of us, well there is your local gym at the High School. Oh, I forgot, that just might not stand up to certain hurricane force winds. Does that matter for you everyday working stiffs, hey if we lose a few well that is sad but reality.

Oh, need more, ok. I read an article in the St. Petersburg Times speaking to someone who is making homes that can withstand 300 mile an hour winds. The homes start at 4000 square feet minimum and go on upwards to 17,000 Sq Ft or more. Hey nothing wrong with that. Now do you think average people build and buy these homes for what they cost? He pawns it off as saying no more cost then any "custom" home would cost to build. Ok, what is that? Do average people build "custom" homes? Perhaps but far and few in between.

So being in the business of Disaster Planning I'll ask you if you really think you are safe in an average home that is built to withstand 120 MPH Gail force winds? The real question is does your builder live in one and if so where? Oh you have windows that can withstand 180 MPH winds that cost $200.00 each. Do you really think average people install these windows without mortgaging the farm? Ok but what if your roof blows off or your walls cave in? Think it can’t happen then think again. I guess those windows can be used somewhere else because they will most likely still be there. Just the home might not be? Once again a quick drive through the Gulf Coast will provide your answer.

The point being there are ways to protect and build cost effective homes that will protect people. Yet they do not. Why, have you asked? Why can't they make them cost effective for average Americans, the poor, those who have no recourse to build or own? Reality is that in my opinion it isn't good business for them. They have evacuation plans for the masses. Go to your nearest shelter. Hey how about the Super Dome in New Orleans? Oh, I’m sorry that didn’t work, did it?

Ok do you think when these people, the haves, go to buy a car they have a problem? Are they not the "Credit Worthy" who these politicians speak about? They either pull out he check book or their beacon, FICA score is so good, because they never use credit, they get that zero % finance rate or any other special deals. Yet Mr. Average American shows up and they take one look at the buggy he is driving and ask for a credit application before they will even talk to you. In other words aren’t you on the wrong side of the tracks?

Do you really think your $14,000, 5 star crash rated car working people are more likely to have will withstand a collision with one of those big S.U.V. types costing $30,000 or more and who will walk away? The high end models get all the safety, the low end N/A or a cost option. Yes, in my opinion safety is not a concern, selling is. Get the point, money talks and you will be protected and get the very best if you have. It goes that way in every single thing you can imagine. It is basically you get what you pay for and if you have, you get, because others want and you can pay.

The fact is the wealthy and those that have do not face the same experiences average people do. So when they say they feel for you in my opinion they cold care less. They wouldn’t know what to feel. Many of them say they have been there. Well you wouldn’t know it by their attitude toward you would you?

Ok, now let me ask you this? Who gets the golden parachutes, stock options, medical care, fuel allowance, and all the other fringes? You got it, it isn’t the working person now is it? Pay for your own gas and yes you better be here on time. Who goes first in an evacuation? Hey I better stop now.

So do you get the drift of what I am saying? It is in my opinion A world made for those that have and there is no denying that. So in my opinion this economy will continue to destroy the average and the poor and those middle income Americans whoa re now approaching the border line. Why, because it is evident in what they do or fail to do. We have thousands of years of history to prove this as fact.

No, until we make a paradigm shift and reverse our government back to ‘for the common good" we will in my opinion continue down the same path of what is good for the wealthy and damn the rest. That is just one mans sad opinion based on their deeds. I could care less what they profess.

If I am wrong then I will be happy to say it. In fact pleased to. Yet where has this been proven? You know something no one can answer. Yes it will remain in my opinion A world made for those that have.
