Holiday Weeked - Part TwoBy BJChips(5,633) ![]() ![]() Dear Diary, Well after a day filled with gutter cleaning and garage rearranging the weekend progressed as usual. Today it rained.I love the rain; it brings out wonderful scents and aromas in the air. I love taking my human on long walks when it rains. I stop and sniff the air, ahhhhhhh what wonderful things waft toward my senses. Humans on the other hand don’t seem to like the rain, they bundle themselves up in waterproof garments, boots and a device they call an umbrella. They avoid puddles and tall wet weeds, all the places I like to go during a downpour. This morning was no exception and I was forced to rush through my morning walk just to maintain peace with my female human who kept protesting that it was “too cold” and “too wet” to wander around sniffing things and looking for the perfect spot for my morning business. Reluctantly I conceded to her wishes and returned to the warmth of the house. Ah, that darn cat, sitting there in the middle of the kitchen floor! What better place to unload the water from my coat! BURRR RRR R !! SHAKE! SHAKE! Water flying everywhere and the cat is trapped in my canine made shower! He shrieks! He Hisses HISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! and fleas the room at top speed. I try to look innocent “What? I had to do that!” The humans seemed to understand. After a hardy breakfast of kibble, rice, warm buttered toast and some scraps of eggs I retreat to my nest on the human bed and settle in for a long nap. The humans won’t want to go outside in the rain and will entertain themselves downstairs for hours. I can catch up on my sleep and enjoy the bed for myself. So goes the rest of the day and evening. A delicious home cooked meal, another frolic in the rain, another opportunity to drown the cat in the water I carry in on my coat. Finally, a long evening in front of the television cuddled with my pets warm and comfy. This is the life I tell you. Nothing could be better…well, the cat could get lost in the dead of night…. but on such a great evening I hardly care. Life is good, nay dear diary LIFE IS GRAND! DOGS RULE!!!
