Optimize Your Blog to Make it More Search Engine Friendly!

Making your blog more searchable is an easy way attract more readers to your blog.

One key way to make your blog more search engine friendly is to create custom meta tags. Meta tags are pieces of information that is passed to the search engine when your blog is indexed. The search engine will take the words you use in your meta tags into account when they rate how applicable your blog is to a person's search.

On ProBlogs the "Meta Tags" are located under the heading "Information." Once that is selected you will have the ability to enter the following info:

Meta Title- A search engine will list this title in bold when your blog is listed in the search results. This should be kept short and will likely be the name of your blog, and perhaps a tag line.

Meta Description- A search engine shows this information below the title of your site when it appears in the results. This should be kept short because a search engine only shows the first 10 words or so. It should explain what your blog is about.

Meta Keywords- These are words that describe your blog and help the search engine know that your blog is pertainent hen someone searches for those terms.
