An Old Marine's thoughts about Love

Now this may shock teenagers and young adults be they girls or boys and that's what the majority of you are, children learning to become young adults and young adults learning to become mature adults and mature adulets seeking to find themselves.

I say this in all sincerety, you do not have the slighest idea of what love is.  Not the slighest clue.  Fact of the matter is many in their 20's and 30's are in the same boat as you young un's when it comes to understanding what love is all about.  Wipe that smile off your face Grandma because I haven't excluded you either.

And, believe it or not, but I offer there is a class of people out there who live their whole lives believing their lack of including love in their daily lives is a virtue.  They, I believe, are the ones whose addled minds lead them to confuse lustful depraved carnal acts to be an expression of the crime of love.  Such individuals are virtueless hence loveless of soul and being.

Without true love being part and parcel of an individual's being, such a one can have no virtues.  What they fail to recognize and understand is that when they practice sexual depravity in the name of love in whatever manner they are at the same time denying love a place in their lives.

A person with love in his heart has a passion for living for to him love brings to life heaven on earth.  And conversely those who refuse to bring love into their lives are more than likely those who "hate this and that" or who "hate that person or thought."  What such individuals seem not to realize is that hate is the cold emotion that makes their lives a living hell on earth.

Christians believe they are made in the image and likeness of God, their Saviour, and that God is Love and though they may not always be capable of extending their love, hence God's love, to others, they are usually humilated by their failures and strive to do better in their lives.

To my way of thinking only those who are impotent would sneer at those who try hard to live love filled lives.

Believe it or not, love is a science, not an art, so there is an opportunity for redemption of the loveless.  How can this be you ask?  Well look at it this way.  Anyone can be taught a science while we learn art by trial and error.  Open minds to learning.

Name me one person on this planet who can either buy or sell life's greatest values?  And in the same vein the capability is within each of us, regardless of our station here on earth, to either share or receive life's highest values with or from others regardless be they of high or low station in life.

No one on this earth deserves love.

One can not experience a more bitter taste than when their offer of love has been rejected by another.

When love within a person dies from that point on in his life he will only exist.  His epitah may as well read, John was buried on Oct. 1, 2006, he died July 7, 1988.

Loving people do not have to worry about managing their lives because their love will guide them to do what is right.

Love is the virtue through which men pardon others faults while anger and rage is a brute's response to other's failings.

The brute is blind while the loving man's eye is his soul.

The great danger to all of us is that while we may acknowledge love is esential to our living a good life within each of us lies an aptitude to destroy it.

God does not purge us of sin through prayer, or our fasting, or self-mutilation, but through His unrestrained love for us.

The dangereous heretics among us are the unbelievers in love.

And make no mistake, good readers, the least among us can love like an archangel.

Our love is what makes us God like and divine in nature.

Those who offer me love are my best priests.

And have you noticed that whenever a woman thinks herself less loved she makes herself less presentable.

And it is a mystry to me why women are more chatitable to men who would destroy their reputations while at the same time being so demanding of the man who unequivacally loves her?

Our minds are forever seeking the unblemished truths while our hearts are on a quest for perfect love and yet if I say these journeys will not be satisfied this side of our graves there are those among you who will challenge this.

Have you realized that God made this world for lovers and all who are not lovers are intruders?  Do you realize that when I make this statement I am not speaking of fornication, lustful moments, or personal sexual gratification?

No man can call himself a man until he loves a woman without restriction.

There will be no justice for anyone without love; no understanding without love, no growth without love.  It is impossible, I offer, to have a meaningful relation with anyone without love.

Have you ever considered that every law founded on self interest is a curse?

Do you agree or disagree when I mention that love is the configureation evolution took with man's appearance on earth?

Do you agree or disagree, God is supreme Love and His love is guiding mankind from chaos to law along the highway of love?

Just a question, when is the last time you sat down and explained to your children how important it is to include love in their young lives?    SYOTB
