Or is the point just to get people to visit the site and offer them no real reason to be there? Most people who use Alexa know the system is flawed and that people abuse the system. That doesn't mean all low ranking Alexa people are doing so. It's just those that are who spoil it for the rest. In that resepct Alexa is no different to any other ranking system on the web.
