Let's move Momos...Mitt Romney, needs your help!By SLCBlog(107) The Boston Globe published an article last week about meetings between Mitt Romney (Governer of Massachusettes) and many prominent Mormon leaders. In these meetings they discussed plans for a nationwide mormon network that could help promote Mitt in a 2008 US Presidential run. The Globe stated that documents showed that President Gordon B. Hinckley was aware of the meetings and showed no objections to the formation of this network. Since this story went public however, the church has issued a release stating that they do not endorse Romney, and are standing firm in their neutrality policy when it comes to political elections... Why wouldn't the LDS Church and it's members want a fellow Mormon for the president? I mean, God himself commanded Joseph Smith to run for president in 1844 (although God didn't let him win)...With a Mormon Prez they could ban anything that they didn't agree with, like short shorts, ho-mer-sexewals, two-piece swimsuits, and coffee. However, alas, the church's dreams of pushing one of their own into the highest office in the land have again been thwarted. This time by nosy reporters and Non-profit orginization status laws that ban them from getting involved..oopsy! Well, maybe once the golden boy, Steve Young, is ready to run they will finally get their mormon network in place and realize the dream of a Mormon Commander in Chief...I mean, why not, they've been running the state for 160 years! (please note that this is written in fun, I mean, it's cool...some of my best friends are Mormon. Also, I mean the term Momo as a term of affection)- :) Mr. X loves ya!
