Let people know that your blog has been updated- Ping it!

When you ping a search engine it tells them that your blog has been updated.

We at ProBlogs.com are working on a new Ping feature that we hope to release very soon, but in the meantime there are other services available. One service that we can recommend is called ping-o-matic, there website is www.pingomatic.com.

When you enter your blog URL (example: http://www.problogs.com/yourblog) and RSS feed (example: http://www.problogs.com/yourblog.rss) it does the work for you and contacts all the search engines. when finished you can bookmark the page (when it tells you to). It will store your information, then you just need to visit the bookmark again and it will resend your ping.

This is a great way to promote your blog regularly and increase your readership!
