StephanieFay blogBy StephanieFay(5)About StephanieFay(5) A Princess's DestinyFlying through the grey fog, a dragon roared. D’Nyelli hesitated and looked up in the cloudy sky. She couldn’t see anything through the dense fog. “D’Nyelli!!! Where are you? Answer me!” yelled a familiar voice. She cringed at the sound of that awful voice. She silently stepped backward into the shadows beneath the forest canopy. “Ah ha! I see you. You know that I can find you anywhere if I want to,” teased Dari’U as he appeared behind her. D’Nyelli turned around and said quietly, “I am trying to have some self time, you know.” He rolled his eyes to the sky and grabbed her arm. Resentful of his stubborn insistence to monopolize her private time, she pulled out of his grasp and walked a few steps away. “Look, I am not ready for anything serious in my life right now. I just prefer to lay low for a while. God! You should know how I feel after all this time I worked so hard. Can’t you accept that??!” demanded she. “No I can’t. We are meant to be together and you know that.” She stared at him in disbelief and fear. She knew that he really believed what he said and determined to let him down gently. A roar suddenly rose up in the stifling air, startling both of the fairies. Dari’U turned joyful as he saw a glittering dark blue dragon strolling up to him. “Ama’Ni! What are you doing here? I am so glad to see you!” he asked curiously. “Dar’Iu, bad newsss. Tri’Ck needsss you right away. Ssssomething bad happened. Here to take you to him now,” Ama’Ni hissed softly. “All right, let me say something to D’Nyelli…” During his distraction, she slipped away into the darkness. He cursed fluently. He got on Ama’Ni’s back as they rose up into the air. "Hey, don't you think it would be time for you to marry?" A'Mandi said softly behind D'Nyelli in the darkness. D'Nyelli turned her head to where her sister was standing. She sighed resignedly. "I am not ready to be married anytime soon. You know that i just want to be a full-time Hunter for a while yet as long as I can," she responded heatedly, "I know it is my responsibility to find a worthy man to be my king, honestly if I felt he was the one, I would marry him right away. But Dari'U is not that man." A chuckle came out of the striking-looking woman with long fiery hair and silver eyes approaching D'Nyelli. "I know that. Everyone know that except him, but be careful with him. I sense something dangerous from him. i just don't want him to hurt you," A'Mandi warned sternly. A laugh burst out of D'Nyelli, "Do you think he will hurt me? After all, I have been a Hunter, a damn good one, for many years. And he has only turned 10. I feel old now." "D'Nyelli!! You know that we age really fast and our hormones overwhelms all of us. Now you are way past the age when the aging process is slowed down to one year every 50 mortal years. Dari'U may be only 10 in fairy years, but he is 20 in the mortal world. That is the age when he finally stopped growing so fast. He may be whacked out of his mind. Just be careful. This age is the most dangerous for the males. Our most dangerous age was 5. Now our mother will retire in a few years and it is time for you to look around to start the ball rolling for you to be ready to become our Queen," scolded A'Mandi. "I just wish it was you, not me. You are the kind of woman, loving, gentle, wonderful Queen this country needs, not me the Hunter who hunts down evil in many forms to destory it. It only makes me tougher, meaner, less like you. I just don't feel like I should be the Queen," D'Nyelli confided insecurely. A'Mandi looked at her in shock. "D'Nyelli, I can tell that you believe this, but I assure you, you are the kind of Queen this country needs so badly. Our mother has been the gentle Queen this country needed for so long to soothe its wounds from the war. Now it is time for it to defend itself with a brilliant Queen with a mind for defense. Don't you see that? If I become the Queen, things would have gone on as same as it has when our mother was the Queen. I believe that every Queen should be different everytime a Queen changes from time to time to keep the kingdom survive! I only hope that you will realize this by the time our mother retires. I love you dearly, have loved you since we shared a womb," A'Mandi argued quietly. D'Nyelli stared at her beautiful sister with tears in her eyes. A'Mandi stared back steadily. They rushed to each other and hugged firecely. Permalink Comments (0) A Fairy's OccupationThe fairies are amused, yet offended by the mortal world's view of them as cute, michevious pixies. In reality, there are two kinds of fairies: Hunters and Domestics. A hunter is usually a male or female fairy who is very fast, very strong, very logistic, and very animalistic in instinct. A hunter is supposed to hunt down evil beings in the mortal world, such as vampires, werewolves, and demons who had turned to evil. The fairy species are the Elder Ones who gave birth to the races of Night Shadows, Crescent Loners, and Time Phantoms. These races have both good and evil beings out in the mortal world, and it is the fairies' responsiblity to destory these beings that has turned to their dark sides. Thusly, the Hunter fairies were chosen. It is their life's purpose. A domestic fairy is as it sounds like. She or he takes care of the home and family. There are a few domestic fairies that take care of Hunters when they come home. They are like servants, but fairies who can't stand violence and long for family and home. They are theirselves. They usually marry each other, but there are a few situations of a domestic marrying a hunter. Hunters and domestics usually dislike each other, but tolerate it for their kingdom's sake. The royality family can be both or either. There was a situation when a king refused to honor fairies the title of Hunter or Domestic, and it caused a civil war. The king was assissantained and a new king was selected. Thusly, sadly the new king was also killed in the war leaving his wife to be the Queen with two young daughters. The occupation of Hunters and Domestics were reinstated in the kingdom. Peace reigned in the kingdom for 30 years. Her husband was killed during the Great War between fairies and wizards 20 years ago leaving her with two one-year-old girls to raise by herself. "Your Majesty, D'Nyelli is coming up the driveway," the attendant said. Queen F'Atima nodded regally and glided across the room to wecome her elder daughter. A tall, young woman with midnight black hair and silver eyes walked inside the doors and saw her mother coming. Her radiant smile brightened up the room as she hugged the queen. "D'Nyelli, charming for you to visit at this time instead of a week ago," the queen scolded tenderly. "Mother, I had a duty to do. I am sorry that I wasn't able to attend the meeting," replied D'Nyelli. "Honey, it wasn't a meeting. The purpose is to prepare you for the role of the queen when I retire. I am retiring in a few years, you know," F'Atima said gently, "it isn't going to kill you to learn the responsiblities of a queen." D'Nyelli sighed, "I know. I just couldn't imagine being the queen after you have been the queen for so long." The queen and her daughter strolled outside to enter the blooming garden. Someone might have mistaken them for sisters since both look alike so much. "When is the next meeting? I promise I'll be here. I just feel so strange going to the role of queen from the role of hunter. Both are so different in the activities. Mom, how would I be a good queen such as you?" D'Nyelli asked nervously. "Sweetie, I can only help you to be the best queen you can be while I am here, but you yourself are the only person to do that. I think it is soon time for you to choose a husband, perhaps?" F'Atima said hesitantly. D'Nyelli gasped loudly, "I can't image marrying any guy here! I am sorry. I'll get married a few years after I become queen. I think that would be the best course to go." "All right, we will leave it at that. Elli, let's go eat at a mortal resturant. I love their food so hot and delicious. I am in the mood for seafood. What about you?" the queen asked delightedly. "Seafood sounds great!!" she grinned. Permalink Comments (1) |
